PERSONALITY; Holly is the product of her dreams. She wanted to be a quidditch player, and for seven years of her life she wasn't allowed to be. Only in the summer was she able to participate in youth leagues, and that definitely wasn't enough to satisfy her hunger. She is a person who will do whatever it takes to get what she wants, and rarely feels guilty about what she must do. The ends justify the means for Holly. Even though she doesn't feel guilty about the way she's treated people, she won't say she's proud of it, either.
INSIGHT
Arthur Troy met Ping P'eng in the most boring ways imaginable, at the bus stop. They sat next to each other every day, Arthur taking the bus because he'd had a bad splinching accident when he was younger and hated magical transportation, and Ping because, well, she was a muggle trying to make a living in London. One day she dropped her favorite pen, and Arthur was the hero that crawled under the disgusting seats of the bus to get it for her. She offered to buy him coffee to make up for the mess that was now on his shirt (a sticky, disgusting mess, at that), and it became a routine: get a coffee before they got onto the bus.

They began to date, and spent quite some time simply doing that before moving onto the next step. This was of course a delicate stage because Arthur had to reveal his magical abilities. Ping was at first shocked and mortified he had kept such a secret from her, and after a brief breakup, she realized she understood why he would have kept it a secret (and wanted to see some of this magic, for herself!). They were married about a year later, and Holly came along nearly three years after that. They liked to take things slow!

Holly's childhood was relatively boring, save for the mix of Irish and Chinese culture. Her mother was a second generation immigrant, so it wasn't as heavily as enforced in Holly's life as her mother's childhood had been, but she celebrated both sides of her heritage with great vigor. Of course, her father has always joked that Holly was more of an Irishwoman than anything because of her St. Patrick's birthday!

Being Sorted into Slytherin was a surprise, because all her Gryffindor father could ever talk about was how mean and nasty the Slytherin house was. But, getting to know her friends and learning what it was to be a Slytherin, Holly found herself feeling quite at home. She always wanted to be the best, no matter what kind of effort it took (or tricks), and being a Slytherin helped give her the tenacity to reach her goals. Not being able to make the quidditch team was something that hurt her deeply, and she swore she would go professional without Hogwarts' help (along with her roommate Nick Bardera).

Quidditch was her life. Holly couldn't tell you when the obsession started, but it engulfs her soul. She despised quidditch season during school and would spend her time following the professional league, because they respected women. She'd always followed the Harpies, but if she wanted to win (like she always dd), she would have to get onto a team like the Tornadoes, or United. The open tryouts were stalked by her, and she was first on line for the United's, having set up her camp at midnight, the night before.

After giving the coach some lip, the team captain at the time noted that he liked her style, and she'd earned a reserve spot.

Of course, being a reserve wasn't good enough for Holly.

After a few years on the United's roster she grew frustrated at her lack of play time, and didn't have a problem voicing her annoyance. Holly had hoped that being vocal about her playing concerns would give her more play time, but instead landed her in a trade between herself and her old roommate Nick. She went to the Harpies with the offer of being their starting Seeker instead of a reserve Chaser. The spotlight was finally hers, and Holly hasn't let go of it.
