FATHER Declan
MOTHER Allison (McKeon)
RELATIONS TBA
FAMILY Neither of Daisy's parents had any magical powers, but they weren't surprised by her abilities. The magical gene had showed up in her father's family years before she was born, so her talent wasn't really much of a shock. Her parents were actually quite proud after speaking to their wizard nephew, and Daisy was sent to Hogwarts without much fuss at all.

EXPERIENCE
Growing up in such a small community has had a great deal of influence on Daisy. She went from living on an island with scarcely 80 inhabitants to rooming at a school built on a breathtaking scale and filled with a huge number of people near to her own age. Needless to say, Daisy's first trip to Platform 9 3/4 was spent staring open-mouthed at the swarms of people standing in crowds around the train. She'd simply never seen so many people her own age before. There were only 12 other students on Rathlin Island, and Daisy had gotten quite used to learning arithmetic next to the older children studying marine navigation and radio telecommunications. Being in a class filled only with others her own exact age was completely baffling, but all very exciting for her.

Daisy's first year at Hogwarts was dominated by a fascination with all things magical and social. She was one of the few who always paid rapt attention during class, doing so out of honest interest as opposed to the desire for a good score. Unfortunately, interest doesn't necessary guarantee ability, and Daisy had difficulty early on with the courses requiring spellwork. She sought out help from the other students, and lacked the common sense necessary to know not to ask those of higher years. It wasn't that none of them were willing to help her, but Daisy often picked the wrong ones to ask. To put it frankly, she was socially inept as far as school hierarchies go. The older students on Rathlin had always been eager to assist her, but many of those at Hogwarts seemed prone to hate her on the principle of being an "ickle little firsty".

This wasn't a completely unlucky circumstance, however, as the other first years quickly bonded with her. Daisy placed no stock by what house another student was in- she'd grown up openly embracing whatever vessel of friendship came her way. Thankfully, Daisy's incompetence with wand-work didn't extend to her social skills. She adored Hogwarts' numerous feasts and Quidditch games, and even looked at her classes as an opportunity for socializing. This didn't earn her the best of favor with her professors, but Daisy didn't mind that very much. After realizing that she possessed close to zero magical talent, Daisy abandoned her earnest scholastic route for one of a more extracurricular nature. Now in her 7th year at Hogwarts, Daisy has become a heathen for social sessions, and a great instigator of anything interesting.

EXPLANATION

personality.
Daisy loves everyone. Friends, enemies, bookworms, flirts, gossips, and even those who torture small kittens. Well, rather she loves the idea of them all. Spending her childhood surrounded by mainly the same eighty faces has caused Daisy to jump at every social opportunity that comes her way. During the years before her Hogwarts letter was sent, Daisy would anxiously await the summers. Summertime meant swarms of tourists, which meant plenty of excitement and new acquaintances. She'd make a whole new batch of friends every year, and she'd spend those few weeks re-exploring the island with them, along with her usual friends of Rathlin.

Having such a revolving door of friends didn't stop Daisy from becoming attached to people, however. There's really no doubt that she distinguishes between levels of friendship. Friendly though she may be, Daisy mostly uses people to pass the time. Socializing is her greatest hobby: Far from causing her to become reclusive, Daisy's birthplace taught her to love talking to anyone and everyone. She enjoys being liked, and often goes to great lengths for a conversation, no matter if her target has no desire to talk to her.

Even aside from that, Daisy can make a decidedly bad first impression. People tend to see her as a just a bit obnoxious. Always giggling or laughing raucously, Daisy hasn't earned the best of reputations with the more studious members of the school, especially when considering that she has no qualms displaying this behavior in the library or during study hall. Furthermore, Daisy can come off as infuriating during an argument. She's only vehement so long as her interest holds up. If she hasn't convinced the other half by then, she simply gives up by accepting anything the other party says with a shrug and uncaring attitude.

Digressing from her more annoying flaws, Daisy really is a good person. She’s harmless, really, and, if anything, will always help a situation. Yes, she gets tired of people, but Daisy is quick to renew her interest. Her boredom forces her to look deeper, and thus she can always tell when someone is having a problem. In this way, Daisy has become quite good at reading people, and, in order to engage herself, at helping them with their problems. While perhaps not the possessor of the best motives, Daisy is definitely beneficial.
