"Some people, being mean to others gives them a power trip, proves they are better than someone, anyone, which makes their own miserable lives seem less pathetic. It's a power rush when they have nothing else." She snorts and shakes her head. Wish there was an easy answer for that. "There's a lot of explanation for that, but I think if we had to regulate the way people thought and acted, we'd be tyrants. Road to hell's paved with good intentions."
