Your plan makes sense, in theory, although I wish there were some other way to go about this. Preferably some way where I can get out of this not feeling like a total wanker if she decides that she isn't ready.

If I ask her, and she says no, what then? Do you really think that should mean planning a future without her?

I've waited over 10 years for her. 10 bloody years. If she asks for more time to decide, what do you suppose I should do? The last thing I want to do is back her up into a corner, since that's the quickest way to send her packing, but is it completely unfair of me to not want to wait any longer than I already have?

There are so many variables to consider. Can you see why I've been going out of my mind trying to work out every angle and possibility?
