But only before nine months before letting them out into the world to fend for themselves. It is now nine months since I did that, so wouldn't it be wonderfully symbolic were I to leave them to their own devices now?

They will be fine. I was raised without a mother or father. They have my genes, they will certainly be able to deal with only having their father with them. It will make them stronger.
