PSP Hacks

Is anyone here familiar with flashing the firmware on a Sony PSP? I've got some really old hacked firmware on mine, and I'd like to update. The current version is something like 3.90-M-33 or something. I can get the specifics if needed, but I'd definitely love some help in upgrading it to whatever's the latest and greatest!

Happy Friday!

Well, I've been pretty busy lately. Trying to study and do well with my course at UVM. I've also been trying to work a little bit on Confessh.us code and DeathNote. But there just doesn't seem like there's enough time in the day! Haha.

Work has been going okay. I've been pretty busy lately, so I'm not as bored, which is definitely nice. I had wanted to go riding yesterday, but the weather was just so miserable and I had some things to work on for homework, so I didn't end up going. Today is a different story though, I do have an exam to take between 12pm and 2pm tomorrow, so at least I've got time to complete it. The weather isn't much better but it is FRIDAY!

I've been talking a lot with Adelaide lately. I'm so sad that she isn't local anymore cause I know we'd be hanging out like every day. I guess she's coming up in August, although who knows how well that's going to go over.

Nothing much happening today. I've finished most of the things I needed to get done, done. I have 2 meetings this afternoon, and then I am free. I'll probably do some riding this week and hopefully I'll be working on the new server. I think I am planning to announce a few permanent accounts for sale in the Hello June post in

news. We definitely need to get those new HDDs for the new server and right now, that's my only hope for getting them relatively soon.

I really a need a girlfriend. I need someone to kick it with, I'm so bored after work haha....

Consulting & DNS Issues

Hey all,

It's very possible that it slipped my mind to post in

system about me removing scribbld2 from the server rotation as it had some bad hardware. In the near future I'll be replacing the hard. I've been monitoring the server logs and graphs over the last month or so and it shouldn't make that much of a difference, even during peak usage times. At least I am hoping so! There's one thing that apparently didn't get done and it was to remove BOTH scirbbld2 entries from the DNS records, so at times people would try to connect to it, and it would go very slowly if at all. I do apologize for that, this morning I've been able to surf the site and it's been much zippier now that the DNS entry has been removed. I do hope the same goes for you, feedback welcome!

In other news, it snowed a little bit on the way to my consulting job the other day...not cool, too cold!! The job was really easy, mostly just going over some questions and some documentation. Then I had a few call backs, I did get paid yesterday which was great! Then I stopped at Small Dog, picked up an AppleTV 160GB for my consulting job in NH next week. Also stopped at my parents house and picked up the stuff Craig shipped up (another magazine for my assault rifle, an unjamming rod and the RIS slides). For some reason Apple sent me another APP certificate along with a pin, dunno why haha

So I basically hacked apart the AppleTV in an effort to remove the airport card, thus completely disabling the WiFi in the unit. Very very simple to do, they're really easy to ope. You just have to make sure you CAREFULLY remove the rubber bottom, or you'll destroy it. But yeah, got that done, and let the guy know that it was definitely doable.

Played some more GTAIV, it's a lot of fun, I love how real it's getting to be, I did a couple missions, and then I messed around and pissed off the cops :) Also played some Call of Duty 4, did pretty good, getting closer to level 44 haha I believe I've got the Desert Eagle unlocked, so I've got to upgrade my classes to use that instead.

Read some more of my Zombie Surival book last night, getting into what weapons are good and which sucks, apparently SMGs, and assault rifles are no good, but bolt lever rifles are...and .22s suck haha

So today, I'm helping Keith move 21 bags of mulch, will have to borrow

emilie's truck to get the job done, but it'll be cool. Then I am going to pull apart the 160GB AppleTV I got yesterday (I pulled apart my own yesterday) and do it up, save time for onsite stuff. but that's about all I have to do today, I am getting my stuff from AirsoftGI from UPS< should be here shortly, another Classic Army MA15A4, some BBs, helmet, charger, batteries and a couple of other things...I am pissed it took so long, I ordered on the 22nd of April and it's just getting here now, although that's about a week, I wanted it sooner!

Oh yeh, I finally got my PSP hacked! I just played Tony Hawk's Pro Skater, which I haven't played since umm, maybe 1999 hahah or whenever it came out. I love that game so much, it brings back some crazy memories! I also got a bunch of other games on there, and they seem to work, except Driver, but I'll figure that out! Mad thanks to PSPCrazy and

GTA IV, Hacking, Shooting & Zombies!

As usual, my excuse for not updating is the fact that I've been super busy. Have been on a bunch of consulting calls, working at the barn, and playing with my new guns.

I finally got my hands on some guns. I got a Tokyo Marui MP5 RAS with a flashlight, aimpoint, vertical grip and a suppressor. It's a bit customized, but not to much. It was used but it seriously looks and works like it's brand new. You can definitely tell the difference between a Tokyo Marui and something else, it shoots really nice, smooth, straight and fast! My second gun is a rifle, I got the MP5 for CQB (close quarter battle), and the rifle is a Classic Army M15A4. I had the guy change stocks to something a little bit more tactile looking, but because we did that I have to have a battery pouch on the stock. Not a big deal, worth the trade-off. I also added a really nice scope, a vertical grip and a flashlight.

I also snagged a Tokyo Marui Glock, which is REALLY NICE. I've only fired it a couple times, because I forgot gas the second time.

Definitely kickass! I also bought a few extra magazines for both the MP5, the rifle and the glock. I am pretty much armed to the teeth and ready to play!

On Sunday (this past Sunday),

emilie and I shot the MP5 and the rifle, (not the glock since I forgot the gas). Definitely obliterated the targets which was fun! There's one magazine I got for my MP5 which completey sucks, I think it's a low or medium cap, not cool. It sucks to load too.

On Saturday, we went out with my good friends to the Japanese restaurant (Koto) and had some really good food! Then we went to see this movie the girls picked out called Baby Momma or something. Terrible, don't ever see it. But it was really nice to hang out with my friends. It was actually Keith and his wife. He got me a Gears of War poster, 2 REAL grenades (obviously not live), and a book, er actually 2 books, the first one is the Mac Apple II DOS book, as a joke, and quite funny, and a zombie survival guide book. The zombie book is awesome, I'm only on page 20 or so, but it's kinda freaky in that it really makes everything they talk about sound so real. Definitely a good book, check it out!

So Monday, not much happened, I bought some woodland camo gear. I'm going to order the woodland UTG vest from AirsoftGI probably since the Army/Navy store here doesn't have it in the woodland camo. One of the ladies who works there annoys me, she's so stupid, bad customer service skills. Doesn't appear to want to be helpful ever, which sucks. I'll probably not go there anymore and order my gear from another place.

I've been on the Vermont Airsoft boards, looking to meet new people and hopefully play some with them...also joined the NEASG boards...some guy on there told me the battery I needed for my aimpoint and it was right...very good.

Today, not much else, I finally got ahold of Joe, apparently the $25,000 loan he was supposed to get never came through which sucks a lot. I also talked to my good buddy Cliff who should be back in VT within a month or so, and only for a month which sucks, but he'll be down in Boston which isn't too far, especially if I'm going down there a couple times this summer to play shoot em' up with Greg.

I got my hands on Grand Theft Auto IV and started playing it this morning/afternoon. It's REALLY GOOD. I had a lot of fun with GTAIII, but then it all started to get to be boring and too repetitive, and now it's like I've not played it since maybe when Vice City first came out, and I'm really enjoying it! Awesome game, haven't shot, fought or killed anything yet, but driving around the city is amazing. They really did an awesome job, it looks beautiful! I'm only like 20-30 minutes in, but it's a wonderful game so far!

I've been attempting to hack my PSP, but it's just too much for me right now, they need some really good directions or something cause I don't have time to troubleshoot and sort that crap out. See previous post if you can lend a hand! I wish it was much easier then it is, I have a couple games, I really wanna try out! Driver for Playstation being one of them :)

So anyways, Keith and I are going to see Iron Man on Friday after work, that'll be awesome, we might go shoot my guns if I get my goddamn charger. I should be getting that and some more gear on the 1st of May which is Thursday, HOPEFULLY!

I think I've covered everything, maybe tonight Emilie and I will relax, watch 10,000 BC and eat some popcorn, but first we're making a chocolate mousse pie! It's going to be amazing and yummy.

[HELP] PSP Hacks

Hey, this is another call out to

confining, I've been putting off hacking my PSP for like a week or two now, because I knew it'd be a pain in the ass, and it appears as if it definitely is.

So here's what I've got:

1. Sony PSP Fat w/ firmware 3.1.1
2. That battery service tool from CodeJunkies
3. A laptop with Windows
4. That Pandora application & those firmwares that come with it
5. A 512MB Memory Stick Pro Duo -- blank

So yeah, I cannot figure out from the directions what to do, it did mention copying some battery and installation applications over to the memory stick, yet I do not see those, so I'm a bit confused!

Anyways, if you can help me out that'd be great :) & much appreciated, I really wanna get it going now that I got my hands on an extra PSP. If you want you can iChat/AIM me, my screen name is under my profile on Scribbld, or if you prefer another instant messenger, I can do whatever!

A little bit busy...

Been quite busy over the last couple days, had consulting on Monday and Tuesday and I went shopping with my Mom yesterday for my birthday. Unfortunately the Army Navy store is no longer in Burlington which sucks. I ended up getting some steel toe SWAT boots though and a new pair of Carhartts.

Keith aso came over last night, we were supposed to study for the Mac OS X Help Support essentials exam, but he brought over the Cloverfield DVD and we ended up watching all the special features and the movie. I love that movie, I finally saw the "thing" fall into the ocean in the last scene of the movie. I have no idea what it is and no body else does either. It was funny to see one of the special features, when they were filming in NY they had to keep everything under wraps and let nothing about the movie out. Every day they would change the name of the movie so no one had any idea what was going on...but even they, people/extras were taking photos on sets on loading them up on the net and by the time the directors got home, they were already up there on the net, crazy...I think they did such an awesome job on that movie! I've got the DVD now, and I am going to make a really nice rip of it, maybe a pure rip.

He got me an original DOS manual for the Apple II, still in like mint condition...it's probably worth like $5000 on eBay hahah That was just the joke gift though. He got me this kickass Gears of War poster. I'll be hanging it up later today, take some pictures of it :)

So we're probably going to Koto's, my favorite restaurant, this Saturday, which is my birthday! Then we're going out to the movies, that'll be nice. I am sad

makkintosshu won't be able to make it probably, but he's got some important family things to deal with, and we'll get together with them another time.

So I've gotten like 2500 Nintendo DS games, lots of Japanese ones, and lots of American ones to. I've really gotten into Professor Layton and the Crazy Village or whatever it's called. I also got Brain Age which I've been wanting for awhile, but I've not tried it out yet.

I've yet to modify my PSP, I just don't have the time to read through the directions and make sure I'm doing everything correctly. It'll be cool though, I've got some good games for it.

Today, nothing much going on, cleaning up the apartment, might go out riding, although it's a bit hot for me, maybe later this afternoon when things cool down. Never got my bike tire changed, so I might get that done today. I've started watching DEA (the Spike TV show), and it's okay. I don't think they've fired one bullet yet, it seems to be drama and it's kinda lame. Even Cops is better haha On DEA they've got all these badass guns, and they don't use them LOL. It's okay though...

I bought myself a Classic Army Armalite M15A4 RIS which looks like this:

I also got a SWAT flashlight mount for it, a vertical grip, 10 extra magazines, a quick loader, a smart charger, 4000 bbs, 2 batteries and a MICH helmet.

I also got some digital camo pants, jacket and a really kickass vest that has a pistol holster, 4-5 pistol magazine slots, 3-4 rifle magazine slots and spots for patches...it pretty much looks like this one but in digital ACU camo.

I've got a pretty good wishlist going on too. I've got the JG Full Metal MP5A5 RAS with a G&P Red/Green Aimpoint Replica, and a MadBull Gemtech "Blackslide" Barrel Extension. Also got a TM High Capa 4.3 pistol, OE TECH Hydration Backpack in ACU camo, the AMP Tactical Green Laser with Mount and also the woodland camo vest I linked to in the previous paragraph...

So hopefully I'll be getting my rifle and stuff in next week sometime and Greg (my best friend from grade school, middle/high school and pretty much for life) and I are going to play with some guys in Massachusetts. They've got like whole courses and things setup to play in. It looks so much fun so I cannot wait for that.

I definitely need to keep working cause my wishlist is like $600 lol...and I wanna get multiple magazines for that TM pistol...I also want to add a G36C to that list, so that's another $250-$300.

CSI, Consulting, Hacks

Had some consulting in Burlington yesterday. Then Ark and I went to the coffee shop and sat down and started to play with Backpack. It's such a nice application, but it's so expensive for what it is. I'd much rather pay like $100 or something to be able to run that on my own server without having such limitations and high price points for what you're getting. Oh well, we're going to try it for 30 days and see how well it works for us. So far it seems to be really cool. We're also using PackRat and I am going to look at getting it all onto the iPhone, so far so good.

After that, I went and picked up my Nintendo DS hack device thingy. And then I went to the barn and

emilie and I worked for about an hour. Went home, ordered some pizza (I love delivery). While we were waiting for that to come, I played with my Nintendo DS thing. It's the AceKard 2. I almost got this other one, but after hearing good things about the AceKard...

Oops, got sidetracked and couldn't finish my entry. Anyways, AceKard 2 is cool, just got the 4GB card, and still waiting for some games to download.

I told

makkintosshu I'd buy his Sony PSP just incase I break the one I am modding, although I see no reason as to why that would happen since it's no sodering or anything crazy. I also found out you can still play legal games with a modded PSP, which is good to know.

So today, I had some consulting in the morning, really easy, I got the lady to purchase an iPhone since her Nokia was crap. Will get that setup for her when she gets back from vacation in a couple weeks. That'll be cool, I am hoping it works.

I finished up working on the server and setting up the proper permissions. I'll be writing a couple articles on Macintosh-Admin so if you're a geeky Macintosh administrator check it out, it'll be on permissions and VPN.

Today, I'm not doing much else unless I get some more consulting calls. I've scheduled a few appointments for next week so that's good. I might hit up the bike shop that just opened up the block and see if they can change the tire on my bike and if they can I might go for a ride along the back roads. I might go horseback riding because the weather is really nice, or I might just sit down a relax and play some Resident Evil or something.

I've submitted a post on lj_dev to see why they included this chunk of code on the support pages that usually rejects people, I don't know how

Another Layout Change!

The main reason I changed my layout again was because I just wanted to have my comments in the layout of the journal, I think it looks a lot better now, although I really liked how the other style had the tags in a cloud? Is this still possible, I am using Smooth Sailing, I really like tag clouds, not in a list like this.

I will be adding a header image in when I get the time to make one, I am debating on whether or not to do horse related or Final Fantasy related...or anime...I dunno...

I worked on some more Crisis Core missions yesterday. I'm really getting through a lot of them. I am going to do them until they all say Very Hard, then I will continue working on the main story. It's such a fun game :) I can't believe I'm able to take down enemies with 50,000HP. Crazy. Although there is some materia out there that I should have, and it does 9999 damage per hit...I must find it.

Had some consulting yesterday, pretty simple stuff. Although things did get crazy after I'd gotten back and some how their accounting database had gotten corrupted and I had to work an additional 2 hours, but I think I solved the issue, mostly because they haven't called back to say it's not working (and it's 11:30am now). Today I have a single consulting appointment in Williston, should be simple. SuperDrive & RAM install. As long as it's not a 12" PowerBook I am going to be okay :)

Then I am not sure what I'm going to do the rest of the day, maybe I'll be able to put down Crisis Core and work on some Resident Evil. I'm probably half way through the game now. I am going back into the mansion after fighting some crazy killer sharks.

I got my Apple Product Professional certifications in the mail, so I am good through December 31, 2009. Phew.

I am hoping my stuff from NewEgg, ModSupply and CodeJunkies comes in soon, I am so anxious! I can't wait to try it all out. I do have one question if you see this

confining, can I still play all my legal games? I really hope so and I wouldn't see why not, but it's best to make sure :)

emilie and I are close to being done with Azumanga Diaoh, I think we have like 4-5 episodes left. For some reason I'm really starting to get annoyed with Tomo...oh well...I dunno what series we're going to watch next, we have so many to choose from. I am thinking Death Note since it's supposed to be awesome.

I got my first issue of Anime Insider, I am barely through the issue I bought more then I month ago, and so I've got 2 new issues to read, it's great!

Well I best be going, I have to get some gas before I head up to the consulting appointment. Have a nice day everyone!

Haxxx!

So with the help of Scribbld user

confining I'll be pimping out my Sony PSP so that I can play some uuuh games. Hopefully it's pretty easy, I've got all the hardware I should need, I will grab a 4GB Memory Stick Duo from Best Buy today and if they don't have any for a good price I'll just hit up NewEgg again.

I beat some more missions in Crisis Core, definitely a lot of fun. Level 20 now and I tried out that materia fusion. Really cool, I got some really cool materia out of it. I'm still in the church since I've been doing all these missions.

Played some CoD4 this morning/afternoon, did pretty well although not as well as I'd like to have done. I can't wait until Tuesday when Morgan, Keith and I play. Not sure if I mentioned this, but

makkintosshu and I finally beat Halo 3 last Wednesday. What a great game that was...it totally makes your head start thinking about what's going to happen...but I guess it'll all up to the imagination since that's the final game in the Halo series.

I've been meaning to pick up Resident Evil again but I always find myself working on leveling up in CoD4 or working on Crisis Core...I'll get back into eventually though!

Today

emilie and I are heading up to Burlington to drop off her truck, and then we're going to the book store, I wanna see if they have a new issue of Anime Insider. Then we're going to work at the barn and then to my parents for dinner...not sure what we're doing tonight, probably just relaxing and watching a movie.
