GRADE POINT AVERAGE: He has a high B/low A average. He does well in school and works hard, but he's also easily distracted by girls and Quodpot.

ACTIVITIES: Quodpot - Captain of the school team.
BLOOD STATUS: Pure... mostly. Ed has a grandparent on one side who isn't entirely pure, but it's a well-guarded secret amongst those who matter.
POLITICAL VIEWS: Moderate. Sort of. Ed does believe that blood matters. He believes that having that little bit of impure blood in his family line means he has to work doubly hard to be as good as everyone else. He's determined to do it, though, and he'd never look down on someone else because of their bloodlines. While he thinks the Pure are naturally more skilled at magic (despite any evidence to the contrary), he doesn't think it has much bearing on their worth as a human being.

Appearance
APPEARANCE: Ed is built kind of like a large tree. He's tall and athletic, the amount of time he spends working out or on the Quodpot field easily showing in his physique. Ed looks very much like your All American jock with medium brown hair and blue eyes, a ready smile and a laid back manner that seems to put people at ease. You might not know what he's really thinking based on his expression or body language, but he definitely gives off an air of approachability. Unless you're a babbling, awkward girl with a crush - somehow, those types seem to get a little tongue tied when they're near him.

DETAILED PERSONALITY:
Most people know Ed as your typical All American jock. He's captain of the Quodpot team. He's one of the more popular guys in school. He's friendly, he's intelligent, he makes decent grades, despite spending plenty of time on the Quodpot field of flirting with this girl or that. Ed is the guy that you love to hate. Or hate to love. Sometimes it's a mixture of the two things.

Below that surface, though, that air of confidence masks a hidden insecurity. Ed is fiercely determined to overcome the less than pure blood in his background that none of his schoolmates at Eligere know about. He's determined to make something of himself - whether he plays Quodpot professionally one day or he follows in his father's footsteps and becomes an Auror. Everything he does in his academic career is geared toward that end and he works much harder than anyone knows to make sure he will be in a position to pursue whatever future he decides on.

There's a darker side to Ed, too. Adept at hiding his true emotions, Ed can be quite manipulative. The face he's showing you isn't always the true one and he isn't above playing on whatever he happens to know about your weaknesses to get what he wants. Ed is used to going after and getting what he wants and his moral compass doesn't always point to magnetic north when it comes to chasing after whatever he's decided he wants at the moment - whether it's a possession or the pretty girl who sits next to him in Potions class. If he has to lie or manipulate to achieve his goals, he has no qualms about doing so. The ends always justify the means in his eyes.

History
CHILDHOOD: Ed had a relatively happy, normal childhood. He didn't grow up in the kind of elitist household many of his peers did, however. While his parents are both from good families and they definitely don't advertise the fact that his mother is a Halfblood, Ed was never brought up to look down upon those who weren't magical. On the contrary, he was fascinated by them, particularly by the various sports the Muggle children in a nearby neighborhood played. Many parents would have disapproved of him playing in a park that was filled with Muggle children, but Ed's parents were very relaxed in their child-rearing and so long as he was happy and safe, they didn't complain.

The result was that Ed spent his childhood with mix of Muggle children and young witches and wizards like himself. The small southern town he grew up with only had a small handful of children like him, though, and he found that he spent the majority of his time with the Muggle boys, learning to play football and baseball and essentially acting like a normal boy.

Ed learned early on in his life to hide the parts of himself that wouldn't be easily accepted and to blend in with whoever he happened to be spending his time with. His Muggle friends never knew about his magical abilities and his Magical friends never knew about his penchant for Muggle sports or about the number of Muggle children he had befriended. Ed kept those worlds separate, managing to blend perfectly into both.

It was he who begged to be allowed to attend Eligere. It was the best of the best, after all. Sure, there were other schools, but something about the elite reputation of the school drew him in, so his family found a way to hide his slightly less than pure background, doing what they had to in order to get him in.

AT ELIGERE. Ed quickly made friends at Eligere. Coming from the Southeast, he had a long train ride to get to Oregon and he'd already made friends with several of his new peers by the time the train pulled into Tillamook Station.

He made his way onto the Quodpot team as a reserve in his Freshman year, moving into a starting position when one of his teammates was injured midway through the season. Ed loved playing Quodpot and he spend hours practicing and going over plays in his head. More than that, he was good at it and when the previous captain graduated at the end of last year, he was a natural choice for his successor.

Despite his obsession for Quodpot, Ed has definitely made time for other things, like studying and girls. He's always been quite the flirt and while it's not common knowledge due to many of them being in the AMP, he's made out with more than his fair share of the Eligere populous. He's even dated a couple of the girls who weren't betrothed to someone else, though it's never been serious. Ed has yet to fall in love or find anyone he's been interested in more than just being casual with.

BLURB: Friendly and athletic, not to mention very easy on the eyes, Ed is a pretty hard guy not to get along with. He's known for being one of those easy going guys who doesn't seem to anger easily and if you're looking to play a pickup game of... almost anything.. on the grounds, Ed's your guy. He's also a hard worker, determined to do well in school and make something of himself and a little bit of a ladies man. There is rarely a shortage of girls clamoring for his attention and while he doesn't let it affect his schoolwork, he doesn't do anything to discourage the attention, either.
