APPEARANCE: She's short with long dark hair that she either wears dramatically straight or with a bit of a curl. She loves running her fingers through it and twirling. Kat is often tapping on things: books, tables, her lap, her friends, whatever. It's an annoying tick to even herself sometimes, but it keeps her being goofy and smiling. She wears a lot of dark colors and people often take that as her being more intense, but she's really laid back and just likes the dramatic feel.

STRENGTHS: She’s a free spirit in that she doesn’t really fit one classic mold or high school clique, she has a way about her that lets her bounce between groups really easily. A sort of youthful spirit.
WEAKNESSES: She can be a little of a flake when it comes to responsibilities like school, though her grades aren’t bad. If she’s not interested or sees it as relevant she doesn’t care about it.
DETAILED PERSONALITY: Kat doesn’t take much of anything besides her relationships seriously. A fierce friend, she’s loyal to a fault. If anyone messes with any of her friends Kat is defending them, whether they are wrong or not. She’s also really protective and like to take care of people. But when it comes to school she’s a bit more careless. She makes ok grades, mostly c’s, because school bores her. She would much rather be out with friends skating, watching the cheerleaders, er um the football game, and hanging out with people listening to or making music.
Kat’s a really fun person. She’s sort of quiet when you first get to know her, and with her fierce and edgy look a lot of people steer clear, but when you get to know her you realize she’s really fun and sweet. She’s quick with a smile and a laugh and easily moves between people and groups, finding something in common to hang out even if she isn’t close with. It helps that she’s laid back and doesn’t take much seriously. She gets along with most everyone, but she’s not one to open up necessarily. Kat’s pretty private and only shares things with people she really trusts like her best friend and her love interest at the time. She doesn’t want to be held down by a relationship, but if she found the right person she would settle down from her more wild, experimental things. Though with her main interest being women and lots of girls being uncomfortable with that, it may be a while until she can find that with somebody. Kat feels things deeply, hence her being driven to music. She often writes about the things inside she doesn’t share with a lot of people, but she could definitely be driven to share that with someone she cared about.
HISTORY: Born to two Ukranian immigrants, her parents have worked hard to take care of them. Her father died when she was seven in an accident at a factory and so it’s just her and her mother now. They’ve worked hard to live off her father’s pension. It’s sometimes a little meager, but it’s plenty for just the two of them.
Kat’s older sister, Ekaterina, is 13 years older than her. To say they don’t get along and share nothing in common is an understatement. Rina moved out of the house when she was 17 to go to college, which was their parent’s dream, but college life showed her what all she’d be lacking. Kat hates how her sister was always asking for money and whining about how she didn’t really have things when they were growing up. You don’t hear Kat complaining. Now Rina lives in New York with her banker husband and their two kids. They get a card once a year showing off their extravagant life. Her mom normally cries about it, but Kat shrugs it off if. If she’s too good to be with them screw her.
Life isn’t all sunshine and roses though. Her mom is often on her case about her grades. They both know Kat could apply herself and make A’s, but she prefers her C average and having a good time. She doesn’t have a lot of friends, and can often be found at home on the internet or sitting on the floor writing, but that’s fine with her. She sort of bounces around from place to place depending on what’s going on and who she wants to be with.
But Kat isn’t all fun and games. Fiercely loyal and protective of her mother and her few close friends, she can be a bit intense. She’s fooled around plenty with her skater buddies, but no one’s really gotten her fire going. She hasn’t done much more than kiss and the occasional heavy petting fingering session with some of the guys. But it was all in fun. Her real source of confusion is how uninterested she is in any of them. Give her a cheerleader bouncing around and she’d be happy forever. Women were just beautiful and she wanted to feel their soft lips. Her couple of girl friends have always been sort of uncomfortable when Kat sat too close or stared too intently, except one a couple of years ago that got all giggly and kissed her on a dare. Kat’s never forgotten that. She’s really protective of her friends, and herself, so not many people know about that.
Although mostly laid back, there’s an intensity about Kat that most people get, some don’t. She keeps an edgy image and wants to experiment more. She likes to run around with friends and play music. Most people are a little intimidated when they first see her and her friends, but her quick smile and infectious laughter usually puts everyone at ease. She’s fun, likes to party and play games, up for anything, and bounces from group to group.
