EIGHT?!?

I remember temps like these this same week in 1998. Karl was only six months old, Katie was not quite three. I wasn't working, home alone with two little ones while Roy was gone for an entire week on a work trip to Schaumberg/Chicago, where the temperatures were comparable! At least this time I have some fairly self-sufficient children and a husband who has no travel in his current job.

Jayne's dance program went well. We are home now, and Roy's off to poker, taking the minivan - there are chains for it in the back and it's best in the snow should he encounter any trying to get back over the West Hills to home.

The house is warmer - it got up to 67 in the front room before we left, and when we got home it had dropped to 66. But the back of the house was warmer and we had been gone and closed up the fireplace, so it just evened out. Time to settle in by the fire and watch movies and read. :)
