True Reflections

Overwhelmed with the Ordinary

Grrrr @ 10:04 am

Received a letter yesterday from Katie's TAG Coordinator at the middle school.

With TWO spelling errors - one of which was THE NAME OF THE SCHOOL.

HOW am I supposed to rely on these teachers when things like this happen?

I've emailed her. Rar.

Dear S---,

I have sent a check with Katie to cover the cost of the trip to *****. She should have taken it to the office; if you can confirm receipt, I would much appreciate it.

Also, and please take this as coming from someone who is a stickler for spelling in official paperwork, and not that I'm upset with you - :-) - but in the letter sent home about gifted students and the activities planned for them, "P---" was misspelled as "P---" once, and "sight" was used instead of "site" with regards to the H*** Field Station.

While I realize homonym errors happen, it's still a bit disconcerting to see such errors come from the very teachers I'm relying on to teach my children these basics. I'm happy to be a proofreader if it would help! :-) And that's a serious offer, truly, I am willing to help.

Thanks so much,

Laura

quick photoshoppy question @ 02:19 pm

If I wanted to take a picture and just *fade* it so that I can use it as a background, how do I do that?

Wednesday is Hump Day. @ 10:39 pm

Current Mood: tired

Today felt like I did a lot of working and accomplished nothing. Rar. I hate days like that.

However, my PT went well and they think that after this last round of six appts, the first of which was today. Yay.

Jayne is being stubborn about homework, while Karl jumps on his the moment he gets home and gets it done. All right, which one of you replaced him with this pod person?

I'm taking two days off next week to tackle the clutter in my house. My bedroom is getting ridiculous. I simply don't have time to work and play and keep on top of the crap, and I refuse to give up what play time I get to do yet more work, you know? So next week (not this week) I'm taking Thursday and Friday off to hit household things.

Dragging myself to bed now...
