True Reflections

Overwhelmed with the Ordinary

My quote of the day. @ 08:17 am

Current Mood: busy
Current Music: I Am What I Am - Gloria Gaynor

Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass. Its about learning to dance in the rain.

Poor Katie had trouble getting those contacts in this morning. She was crying at one point, and not just because her eyes were irritated by that point. She managed to get the right one in, and I put her left one in. It'll just take practice. She did fine yesterday and managed one today. She tends to roll her eyes away as her lids try to close. It's just a matter of getting used to it.

Jayne nearly missed the bus this morning. I can't figure out how 25 minutes isn't enough to time to eat food already prepared for you and put on clean clothes. And brush your teeth. Ten minutes max to eat, five minutes to dress, three to brush. That's only eighteen minutes. And I woke her up twenty minutes before that! grrr.

My goal is to tackle the girls' room today. They can't see their way to actually getting rid of anything. They just shift crap from side to side. So Mommy's going to make some executive decisions. And Santa is bringing a rather largish doll crib/drawer unit for one little girl's dollies, so there MUST be room for that.

I have a meeting at 10am and am skipping the gym in order to do the girls' room. Pray I don't get lost in there...

I'm a little sorry @ 08:30 am

that I set myself such an ambitious schedule today. The weather is turning colder and I'm dreaming of wrapping up in my wool blanket, sitting by the fire, watching It's a Wonderful Life or Miracle on 34th Street or reading Little Women.

Maybe tomorrow!

Current Mood: tired

Thank you Christy, Tonya, Lisa and Nancy!

Meatloaf tonight. Cleaned a chunk of the girls' room but nowhere near done. Lordy, lordy. My back is a little sore tonight. Maybe a nice hot soak in the tub later.

Going to be FREEZING this weekend - possible snow to the valley floor, three days predicted of below freezing temps for the HIGH. Like, high of 29 and low of 17. Darned air from Canada! *pretends to shake fists at Canadians*

Still to do tonight: Wrap gifts now that wrapping paper has arrived, take stock of what has been acquired and what needs acquiring yet, and folding laundry.

I'll sleep when I'm dead.
