And my boss sent the best card - three images of her kids, the past three Christmases. Daughter is smiling on Santa's lap, while little brother is crying...and then crying...and then crying yet again! "Christmas isn't a season...it's a state of mind." It's way too cute!

Drove in the crazy mess today to get to the grocery store first and then on to dance class. We met daddy on the way home and he drove the rest of the way. No school again tomorrow, and no new precipitation tonight so tomorrow I intend on getting out to finish the Christmas shopping now that I know the condition of the roads, and know just where I'll be going. Whew.

Only a few outstanding SS entries but I have faith all of them will arrive in time. YAY!

   A WINTER STORM WATCH HAS BEEN ISSUED BY THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE FOR WEDNESDAY AND THURSDAY.   THE WATCH INCLUDES ALL OF OUR AREA, EXCEPT COASTAL CITIES.

The coast is expected to see a rain - snow - ice mix at times with temperatures above freezing.  The Portland metro area will see up to 6" of snow with 8" spots in the hills.  It looks possible that southwest Washington will see higher snow amounts than Portland - perhaps 6 - 8" of snow.  The snow will begin Wednesday morning and become heavier during the day into the night.  Thursday will see the storm weaken into snow showers.  Look for 8" plus over all Coast Range passes and 12" over the Cascades.  The Columbia Gorge will also see 6" of snow or more.   We continue to track the possibility of a third winter storm this Friday night and Saturday.  Metro temperatures may remain below freezing Saturday as a strong and very wet Pacific storm pushes inland. If we are below freezing, the storm could dump a foot or more of snow and sleet.  Sunday would see warming temperatures into the 40s with snow changing to rain.

The kids are out of school tomorrow and if this happens, I will bet that they won't go all week.
