And once he got on the road, the tightener for the left one popped off. Argh. He turned the corner and stopped there. I got called to come operate the van while he fixed it.
The part that goes to the back side of the tire had pulled forward and he had to cut lnk to get it off. The man across the street came to help. He is older, reminds me of Ed Asner with a little beard. He got Roy a saw and a big flat head screwdriver to bend the link out.
Then the neighbor across the street came out to watch, too. I'm sitting in the van, so embarrassed. And this guy looks like Ron White. Seriously, I kept expecting to hear him say, "They call me "Tater Salad".
Eventually Roy got the link off and the chain off, laid the chain back out, I drove onto it again and the shortened chain tightened up much better.
he and Katie made it to the store and then they're going to attempt Burger King. We'll have a late lunch and a later dinner - spaghetti, of which I can make enough to go into tomorrow's lunch as leftovers.
The snow has stopped andsobe stopped through tomorrow, although we're still below freezing so no real melt. Snow again Christmas Eve through Christmas Day. We're supposed to go up to Vancouver 24th. I'm thinking....no.
14 inches since this all began. We're definitely hoping now that we don't get any sort of Pineapple Express, because we REALLY don't want flooding from a sudden melt...
