They're only running the frequent service routes, and his isn't one of them. Of the four bus routes in our town, only one is running and we're not near it at all.

His sister is going to pick him up to take him to the train with her, but she's only working six hours and will be coming home earlier than he would, so now we're debating if he will either:

• Hike home from the train station through awful sidewalks;


• Drive the van with its tentative chains to a train station so he can drive home himself


• Hope I can try to drive up to get him on the tentative chains

Right now he's planning on hiking home.

More snow tonight and tomorrow. And Christmas Day.

The kids haven't gotten to do their sibling shopping yet, and the roads are slickery ice and I'm not driving them.

I feel TONS better today compared to yesterday. Still stuffy and snuffly, but I have lots more energy. Will work on finishing the housecleaning today; I had no energy to crack whips around children, but they have been warned that we finish today.

And I have a pie to bake and I want to make cinnamon rolls, but maybe I'll save those for after Christmas downtime.

And I need to work today; I took yesterday off as a sick day. I never even dragged myself into the shower.

Need to call Les Schwab and see if they have any better tire chains to fit the van and see if my mom can help me get those.

They've plowed and graveled our street and the ruts are shining icy-slick in the streetlights.

Time for a nice hot shower and then some breakfast and then - getting to work.

to the boo - my most local Les Schwab tire center have turned OFF their phones, according to another location. That location also had only link chains, like we already have.

I'm going to make a formal complaint to the Main Offices about them turning off their phones - that is NOT acceptable during a winter storm. They're known for their very eager and friendly staff - turning off the phone is definitely not representative of this! They can have someone there ot answer the phones, for chrissake.

Roy will just fix the other chain we have and make them both fit the van correctly.

My mom is going to take the younger two to do their sibling shopping. Katie made her own so just need those two.

Monday's episodes of "Little People, Big World." Tissues were used.

There wasn't local news that I was aware of about Mike, so this was a surprise to us except for the teasers two weeks ago - I figured that's who it was then. But still...

No chains anywhere! Hahahaha. See, people, we're not PREPARED for this shit. OMG. We're having a tiny silver thaw right now but it'll snow more again tonight...and then tomorrow some rain, I think. I need to get to the grocery store one more time. Hopefully I can do that. My mom took the kids shopping today so I'm seeing if she can take me tomorrow.
