True Reflections

Overwhelmed with the Ordinary

Another inch and a half or so @ 08:49 am

Current Mood: cranky

since last night. They're promising us rain later, then more snow tonight and tomorrow. White Christmas.

Friday, we're supposed to get rain and remain ABOVE freezing for at least a few days....Praise the heavens.

They're bringing GRADERS from Mt. Hood down to help us clear the roads...this is how bad it is, people.

OH! A few people mentioned they never use chains or that they're illegal. - really??? I know we have date cut-offs for studded tires (which was extended last year becuase of LATE snowfall, good golly, we're moving further north or the axis is tipping or something...) but for mountain passes at the least, starting in the fall and going through spring, you're required to carry chains in your vehicle (or have studs) on certain passes and highways around here. We don't use salt, just gravel.

my mom is on her way to pick me up so I can do some last-minute grocery shopping since we're not going up to my sister's tonight. Hopefully the store isn't sold out of the things I need.

Roy got to the train station with the van all right this morning. My car hasn't been driven in nearly two weeks now.

Come on, rain....

Happy Birthday, [info]lolabobs! @ 09:03 am

Here's hoping all your dreams come true!

And an early Happy Birthday to both [info]musicmutt and [info]jerel, in case I forget tomorrow. :)

I know I missed others this week - HAPPY BIRTHDAY to all of you, too!

It's raining @ 12:34 pm

and melting! all slush in the store parking lot. The roads are trying to clear. Still, we're only at 34 and we will be below freezing tonight, so WHEEE on the ice that will form from all this water!

Hope Santa doesn't slip!

A Christmas wish for you. @ 04:19 pm

Do you remember me?
I sat upon your knee;
I wrote to you

we're to stay above freezing tonight! @ 10:12 pm

Current Mood: busy

Cross your fingers that holds true!

The kids were following Santa on Norad for a while. Then we watched A Christmas Story followed by Christmas Vacation, then an "all together now" reading of Night Before Christmas.

Stockings were hung, milk and cookies set out, and we're waiting to be sure they're asleep before we start that annual parental duty of putting SOMETHING together.

Whew.
