♥ lavender johanna brown; gryffindor; seventh year.AGE/BIRTHDATE: seventeen - december the 27th, nineteen seventy-nine.
BLOODLINE: halfblooded.
WAND: walnut, kelpie mane hair core, ten and one half inches long, quite whippy, ideal for charms work.
SEXUALITY: heterosexual.
PERSONALITY: "Is she
always that loud?" is probably something you'd hear coming from someone who doesn't know Lavender. One might call her...promiscuous, she prefers to call it 'playing the field.' After all, the grass
is always greener on the other side. Either way, Lav likes to flirt - a lot. And even that is an understatement. She's dated nearly every half-decent boy in Gryffindor and is slowly working her way onto foreign ground - Ravenclaws and Hufflepuffs have a certain intrigue to them, and even Slytherins could be fun. They've got a sort of mystery about them. She's a very outgoing person and certainly isn't afraid to speak her mind whether it be in defense of the latest fashion, or to shoot down someone's hopes of a 'good' do-it-yourself haircut. Psh. Like
those exist. If you ask her opinion you're going to get the God-honest truth, be it brutal or not, and that's what Lavender admires most about herself. If she isn't the most self assured girl in her year she'll go up against anyone willing to challenge her. Maybe it was because of her parents positive [ perhaps even
overly so ] building up of confidence or it could be that she just
knows she's hotter than a blast-ended skrewt on the fourth of July. Any way you look at it though, Lavender's favourite past time is either a) flirting, b) snogging, or c) both.

When concerning an angry Lavender, its probably in your best interest to avoid her at all costs, especially if you're the reason she's miffed. There's nothing quite like a girl seeking revenge. Usually she's a pretty laid back, easy going kind of girl, but if you do something dirty she'll dish it right back - most likely ten fold. Rarely does she pull out the big guns and ruin reputations, but she has been known to spread some pretty nasty rumours. Her father's been trying to steer her away from her more malecious catty schemes, and she's slowly growing a bit more mature about things.
If Lavender is ever in a 'relationship' she's usually pretty lax about the lucky guy hanging out with his friends, but if it includes another girl? Oh hell no. Lavender's probably one of the most jealous girls in Hogwarts when it comes to her man hanging around other girls. Its not a problem if they're flirting with said boy when she's around because she can usually swat them out of the air like a fly with her sultry attitude, but if she isn't around and happens upon him talking [ or flirting ] with another girl she greens with envy. So watch your back ladies. She's also a bit hypocritical when it comes to that sort of thing - its okay for
her to flirt with other guys, but if her man flirts with other girls? Or if girls are flirting with him? Sparks are gonna fly.
Don't get me wrong though! Overall Lavender's a really genuine, nice girl, very outgoing,
loves to talk, gossip [ what girl doesn't? ], and enjoys being around the opposite sex. A lot. She somehow gained her mother's good looks and social skills and her father's wit and smarts so she's quite the firecracker. But if you manage to steer clear of her bad side you should be safe, just don't step on her toes or she'll break yours.
°
hobbies/habits/quirks: Lavender
loves painting her nails, reading magazines, watching Quidditch, and going to the muggle cinemas when she's home on hols. Some of her most prominent habits however are sometimes annoying - twisting her hair between her fingers - but most of them are fairly subtle. She chews on the insides of her lips if she's nervous [ which doesn't happen often ], and if she's feeling a bit more flirty than usual she tends to walk taller and speak softer.
°
fears: Bad hair cuts, heights, bees, and being left alone.
°
goals/dreams: Initially Lavender wanted to graduate from Hogwarts and get into the fashion industry, but after her career advice sessions she's looking into working at the Ministry. Possibly in the Misuse of Muggle Artifacts office, but she's got time to think it over of course with her parents fully supporting her. And, as surprising as it is, she wants to get married and have children. Preferably two girls, but she's not opposed to boys either.
HISTORY: Lavender Johanna Brown was born on December the 27th, with snow falling from the sky outside the hospital window. Both of her parents were absolutely ecstatic when they heard they were going to be having a baby soon, and Georgiana absolutely glowed during her pregnancy. The two never thought they were going to end up with each other, but things just sort of fell into place as their relationship grew throughout their time at school.
During their time at Hogwarts, both Georgiana and Henry had been having on and off relationships with different people here and there, but it never failed. They always somehow ended up with each other at the end of the day, complaining about what their boyfriend or girlfriend had done to annoy them, or just to vent about problems they'd been having. Ana was the one to notice it first. The way his hair stuck up in the back, his bearhugs, how perfectly her hand fit in his. She didn't say anything though. It was shortly after the two had finished their N.E.W.T's that Henry too realised maybe there was something a bit more to their relationship than just snogging and the casual hook up. Not wanting to muck things up, they waited until they'd graduated to suggest anything near serious. When they realised that maybe this was going to work, they were more than thrilled and the two started to date steadily.
It wasn't until after Henry had secured a job at the Daily Prophet [ writing the sports section of course ], that he started to think about marriage. At first it came in small doses. Glancing at older couples in the cafeteria, watching a father play catch with his son in the park on a Sunday afternoon, passing by family portraits on co-worker's desks. It was only until after he'd turned 23 that he found himself wanting to settle down and start a family. Finally, one night after work, and after Georgiana had finished her shift at the local pub [ waitressing ], Henry took her out to eat at the Marlin and popped the question. It was everything Ana had dreamed it would be - ever since she'd been little and pretending she was getting married to her stuffed bear Mr. Nadderby - and she didn't hesitate in saying yes.
Georgiana had looked stunning her wedding dress, and the two tied the knot. Not surprisingly, soon after they'd been married, Ana found she was pregnant and Lavender came along. Henry really didn't know how to be a father, or whether or not he was going to be good at it, but as soon as he saw his daughter he knew he'd just started the best adventure of his life - parenthood.
Being a muggleborn Henry was scared that his daughter wouldn't be as lucky as he was in gaining the wizarding gene as he had been, and so when her birthdays passed without any sign of magic both Ana and Henry began to worry. Finally on Lavender's fourth birthday, something remarkable happened. Lighting the candles on the cake had seemed a simple task, but grandma Brown's fingers slipped and the match landed in Lavender's lap. What should've been tragedy was altogether avoided by what could've been explained as someone accidently spilling their water, but there wasn't any way - wasn't even humanly possible - that single glass of water could've been knocked over. No one had touched it, not to mention it was at the opposite end of the table from the small girl. The contents splashed into Lavender's lap, who continued to giggle throughout the chaos of her mum's wringing hands and dad's yelling about the extinguisher. Needless to say Ana was relieved to find her only daughter was a witch. So that's where it all began.

On her eleventh birthday, just as every other witch and wizard in London, Lavender received a letter from one Albus Dumbledore and the Browns was overjoyed. Their daughter was going to attend the best wizarding academy they could ever have hoped for and, much to her father's delight, Lavender was sorted into the same house he had been; Gryffindor. It was hard for her parents to watch her go off to school her first year, but Lavender was simply teeming with excitement. Once she got to Hogwarts all thoughts of home slipped away into the steam on the platform. She was like a sponge, soaking up every ounce of everything she could, making friends left and right, attending each and every Quidditch match, and even breaking a few rules here and there, but she wrote home every week and there wasn't a moment when Lavender wasn't doing something. She immersed herself in Divination and idolised Professor Trelawney and, despite everyone else's opinions, she proved her Gryffindor courage by volunteering to see if Blast-Ended Skrewts hibernated in her CoMC classes.
So over the years her social repertoire steadily grew and she found herself as one of the more "popular" girls alongside her best friend Parvati Patil. Sure, not many of the other girls in her year were fond of her - Hermione Granger point in case - but she didn't mind. She had every boy she could possibly want at her fingertips. Lavender swiftly made her way through a line of blokes from any and every house and at first it didn't bother her so much until she checked Ron Weasley off her list of boys.
Initially she was enjoying Ron's inexperience and endearing blush - it made it much more fun! Get in, get it, and get out. That was her mantra. But something about that "relationship" struck a chord in Lavender. The way that Hermione reacted, the way that
Ron reacted. It finally became apparent that this no strings attached way of going about things wasn't as satisfying as she made herself think. There was something missing and she suddenly wanted to find it. After she and Ron ended things during her sixth year Lavender calmed and found herself single for the first time in, well, a long time and it wasn't so bad. She worked hard and focused more on her studies and at the end of the year, after Voldemort was defeated, and receiving excellent marks in her courses, Lavender was pleased to get things back to normal.
Its now her last year at Hogwarts and watch out, Lavender is coming back in full swing! Her 'plummy' nail polish loving, gossip spreading, divination obsessing self is ready for school and, of course, boys. But this year things are going to be different. She's going to
try and not be as superficial. Its going to take baby steps, but at least she's trying right? :D
