For the last... forever, it seems like, I've been exhausted. Like, constantly exhausted. Ive been blaming it on work, because I think it kind of really started around the holidays when we started to get a lot busier, but now I'm thinking not so much.

Lately, I've been waking up a lot at times I shouldn't be. 3am, 5am. I can come home exhausted and pass out and 2-3 hours later I'm awake and having trouble falling back asleep. One day last week, I came home dead on my feet but then I was mentally wide awake and it was after 6am before I managed to get to sleep. Even then, I only slept for a few hours and then I took a nap later in the day.

I had my annual checkup with my doctor (who is so awesome and I love her omg) the other day and while I was there, I talked to her about all of this. She was concerned about the being exhausted all day (otherwise, she said, she would think my body just didn't need much sleep), so she's referred me to a sleep doctor and in the meantime, she's prescribed me a low dose of Ambien. I was iffy at first because I hate the idea of needing drugs to sleep, but I have to admit that it's helping.

Tuesday was my first night on the Ambien. Last night was day number 3. So far, I have felt MUCH more awake and alert and much less exhausted than I had been. I have also moved my TV into the living room and am only going into my bedroom at bedtime. My appointment with the specialist is nearly a month away, but in the meantime, it's nice to wake up feeling rested.

I'm still hiatused from all of my RPGs and I think I'm going to stay that way for another week or so until I get into a good pattern of consistently feeling rested, but I actually feel like I'll be ready to go back to it soon.

It's nice.

PS Starbucks VIA? Totally awesome. Except I wish I had the caramel syrup here at HOME because my coffee is so much better with that stuff.
