You know how sometimes people on your friendslist post about stuff going on in their life, and all of a sudden you think "Wait a minute. Since when were they working there? Since when were they dating him/her? Since when?" And you wonder how you could have missed all of that seemingly standard information, but somehow you feel too ashamed to ask for clarification, because it seems like info you should already know? It happens to all of us sometimes.

Please copy the topics below, erase my answers and put yours in their place, and then post it in your journal! Please elaborate on the questions that would benefit from elaboration. One-Word-Answers seldom help anyone out.

1. first name.
Dawna is my given first name and it's what most of my family members, people are work, etc call me. Lena is a nickname I started using a few years ago and it's based off of my middle name, which is actually Elena. It's pronounced like lay-nuh, for those who are curious. The Common Rotation song Hey, Lena is largely responsible for me adopting that nickname and it's what my best friend and her family/friends all call me. I'll gladly answer to either. I would go by Lena entirely, but I don't want to confuse my family or the other people who know my by my first name.

2. age.
This makes me feel ancient, but I'm 35. I'll be 36 in February.

3. location.
Tampa, Florida. I've lived a lot of different places, though. I was raised in the midwest (born in Omaha and moved to South Dakota when I was 10) and I did my first couple of years of college in that region before transferring to the University of Georgia in Athens, Georgia. From there, I eventually moved to South Carolina and then to New Orleans. When my sister got married a few years later, I was ready for a change and I moved to Phoenix, which was entirely too hot and dry, so after a few years of that, I moved to Los Angeles. I loved LA and I miss my friends there dearly, but I missed the South and hated the high cost of living on the west coast, so when I had a chance to transfer to a new store out this way, I decided to take it. Eventually, I hope to transfer once more to a store in Jacksonville, which is even closer to the BFF.

4. occupation.
Genius :D No, seriously, that's actually my job title. In plain English, it means I get paid to do in-person tech support and repairs for Apple. It's a pretty awesome job. Retail can kind of be hell and sometimes people can be less than pleasant to deal with, but overall, I really love my job. I've been doing it for close to 4 years now and I really can't imagine doing anything else.

5. partner.
None. It might be nice to have some day, but I'm not really stressing over it. I have my friends, my family. Life is good.

6. kids.
None, unless you want to count my kitty. I think I would like to, someday, but for now I'm satisfied with my nieces and surrogate nephews.

7. brothers/sisters.
I have a half-sister I have never met and another half-sister who I barely remember, because I was very young the last time I saw her. I also have an older brother named Jack and two younger sisters named Amanda and Nikkol. Nikkol's first name is actually Jennifer, but she's using a variation of her middle name as a nickname, too.

8. pets.
I have one cat. She's a 2 year old - almost 3, I think - Siamese mix (more ragdoll and tortie mix, actually, I think) that I adopted from one of the shelters in Los Angeles about 8 months before I moved to Florida and her name is Narcissa and she is basically the cutest thing ever. (gallery of proof). She's extremely cuddly and co-dependent, so I get lots of cuddles when I am not off at work or elsewhere. She comes with me when I visit the BFF, because her kitty (amusingly named Ronald Weasley) and mine are the very best of friends.

9. list the 3-5 biggest things going on in your life.
It's probably sad that I really don't have anything to put here...

Um, I've started going to mass regularly again. I'm really liking the church I found and I go whenever I have a free Sunday. They also have a singles group that I'm trying to get involved with so I can make a few more friends in the area.

My living room finally has couches and a CHRISTMAS TREE. I'm kind of excited to decorate for Christmas.

Crystal and I have been working on a new school-based magical game for the pureblood elites in America, which we are extremely excited about. It's extremely sad how much my life revolves around RP, but I don't have a LOT of free time outside of work and I enjoy it.

I've been dealing with insomnia for years and I am finally going to be seeing a sleep doctor to figure out how to fix it in a couple of weeks. I am both nervous and excited about that.

10. parents
It's been just my mom for so many years, that I hardly consider my dad a parent anymore. She's still in South Dakota and I miss her a lot. I happen to think she's really awesome and we've always been pretty close.

11. who are some of your closest friends?
Crystal is my best friend, which probably comes as no shock to most of you. I feel as though I've drifted from many of my other close friends in terms of how often we talk, etc, but I would still count Milly, Stacy, Cate, Summer and Erica on that list, even if I don't talk to any of them nearly as often as I used to. I don't tend to have a lot of people I consider my closest friends, because I don't have an easy time trusting people.
