lestrange, gaultier. ([info]lestranged) wrote,
This? Cygnus was looking forward to their meeting more than his gift? That took Gaultier aback a moment, but then it was to be expected -- Cygnus wasn't quite acting like himself, he seemed much more quiet; more quiet than Gaultier would have liked, anyway. With his own lips pursed did he raise a single shoulder in a brief show of concern. "I just thought --" and with his words trailing off did he withdraw from Cygnus, a single step or two, before giving a nod. If Cygnus wanted to change the subject, there would be no stopping him. Gaultier hated how awkward it had all become. "Yes, it is rather large."

Large wouldn't truly describe it: the house, by no means massive, was still large enough for an entire family to live and have no trouble in avoiding seeing one another for days, if one so desired. Gaultier had made sure, in purchasing the property, that it came fully equipped with a garden as well -- if he remembered properly, Cygnus did mention liking that of his own home. There was more than enough wood along side for them to take a relaxing stroll after dinner, among other various bits and pieces Gaultier found he himself enjoyed. This, along with the thought in mind that he and Cygnus would have a place they could call their own, finally sold him on the idea. It was that very morning that he sent in the money, acquiring the key not long after in an owl.

"Open your hand, Cygnus, and close your eyes." The demand was a simple one, in which Gaultier knew Cygnus would follow eventually, even if hesitantly. Watching, and waiting, Gaultier smiled despite himself, the very key he had received only hours before suddenly coming to rest in the palm of Cygnus' hand. "I thought.." with another pause did Gaultier lean forward, gently stroking his fingers along Cygnus' cheek, continuing much more quietly, "it'd be nice for us to have a place to go when we spend time with one another. Some place other than a hotel room.."
