FAMILY: Ed lives with his aunt and uncle and his little brother Patrick. His parents were killed in a car accident about a month ago. He's close to his brother and to his family in general, but has been a little withdrawn from everyone lately.

APPEARANCE: Ed is built kind of like a large tree. He stand 6'4 and weights around 190 lbs. Yes, he's pretty much large enough to block out the sun and he's well-toned from years of playing football. He has medium brown hair that he usually wears kind of shaggy and wears the scruffy look well when he hasn't bothered to shave. His eyes are actually hazel, but they can appear to change color and usually have more of a greenish tint to them. He has a charming grin that is almost always present, and his expression almost never gives away what he is really thinking if his mood doesn't match his smile. He's more graceful than you would expect someone of his size to be, though he sits kind of awkwardly when the chair is too small for his build. His style of dress is pretty formal, even when he's not in a suit and tie (though, when he is, the tie is done up perfectly, the jacket and pants perfectly pressed). Even his idea of casual is usually a nice pair of jeans and a button-up shirt or skipping the tie on his shirt and wearing is more casually with a jacket thrown over it. T-shirts, when he wears them, are always completely free of wrinkles. Appearances are very obviously important to him.

DETAILED PERSONALITY:Edward is outwardly friendly to everyone he encounters. If he doesn't like you, you will probably never know. He nevers gives away much of his true feelings away unless you are one of the few he truly cares about. Most people he sees in terms of value -- how he can use them to his advantage -- to his football career, his image, his grades at school or the impression he's making on people who matter, etc. There are a very few who he feels a true attachment for and those are the ones who do see the rare bits of emotion from him. (his cousin(s), his little brother, his few true friends...) To everyone else, he's the friendly, easy-going, boy-next-door kind of guy, but he wouldn't be willing to sacrifice much for them, really.
Edward is relatively stoic. He doesn't wear his heart on his sleeve and it's very difficult to tell what he is really thinking. There are a few exceptions to this - people who know him well enough to read his moods - but for the most part Ed's true feelings are often hidden beneath the surface and it might be easy for someone to think he doesn't care about anything just by the way he acts.
This does not, of course, apply to football, which he was always freely obsessive about. But even when it comes to that or the people he loves, it's his actions rather than his words or expression that show how he really feels. He's not a man of many words and he doesn't speak of his emotions freely, but the people who are important in his life tend to know it.
HISTORY: Edward was born in a small town in South Georgia on January 10, 1988 to Doug and Cat McMillan and 5 years later, his younger brother Patrick aka Trick was born. Their parents weren't rich, but they weren't poor either and his childhood was fairly stable. He didn't have a ton of luxuries, but he got the things he needed, including the gear he needed for his main thrill/obsession in life - football.
Ed has been playing football practically since he could hold the ball. His dad coached the local high school team while his mom ran a cozy little bookstore in town, so books and football were the two biggest things in his life ever since he was a little boy.
When he got to high school, he quickly made the varsity team, dating his way through the cheerleading squad while he caught the attention of college scouts. He was never serious about any of them, really, nor was he a jerk about things, but he definitely had the casual arrogance that came with being one of the best athletes in the school and he made sure he had plenty of fun when he wasn't busy with practices (which were fun for him in their own right, because he truly loves the game) or schoolwork.
In the past few months, Ed has been through a lot. His parents were killed in a car accident, a hit and run by a drunk driver, and he and his little brother have found themselves suddenly uprooted from their lives in Blackshear and brought to live with their Aunt and Uncle in Chicago. He's still grieving the loss of his parents and hasn't really begin to think about the coming school year at Arcadia.
