1. UHM, they're also in some sort of fighty club, too? It's probable that he does not as of yet have any thoughts on her. Which is a good thing. But, if she only says smart things in Philoshopy and always hits the mark in the fighty thing /soinformedomg, then it's a better sort of no-thought. /...Seriously making so much sense, here.
2. Yashamaru tried to kill him. Gaara being Gaara, this isn't a secret in the line of, IF IT WAS YASHMARU IT WOULD HAVE BEEN OKAY TO DIE, hell naw, he's still completely about survival. But, while he does not have any kind of a death wish, he also doesn't blame Yashamaru.
3. Probably two or three here: the photograph of his mother, the scar on his forehead, and a portable zen garden. As to the first, a'doi, the mother he never knew (but, you know, sometimes hears). As to the second, it's a reminder of that night. The third is hella old, from before Yashmaru snapped. His uncle introduced him to it as a means to calm him, and it's only after a bit of gardening that Gaara can get any sleep at all.
