Link Of The Week #1
This is something I've wanted to try for awhile. Once a week, I plan to feature a site I think others might enjoy or find interesting.
To kick things off, I've chosen WWOZ, a local public-sponsored radio station that also streams live over the net. It features a lot of jazz, blues and the like, with an emphasis of New Orleans musicians, but includes everything from country to Celtic. Personally, I'm a fan of Jazz At The Market, and the "World" Music they play on Saturdays. (For some reason, I find the title of "world music" kinda pejorative, but that's probably just me thinking too much again. And in any case, I can't think of a proper alternative.)
The station has quite an international following, and many of the DJs take emailed requests--within the theme of the show, of course. Do check it out.
