It's all about the survival of the fittest, Mackenzie. It's about coming out on top. A lion can't befriend an antelope, and expect the other lions to just sit back and starve. You can file down their claws, but they're still the same, savage animal they were before, with rows of razor sharp teeth.

You can't change the order of things without there being consequences. It's just the way things are, and always will be.

If you really want my advice...just let him go. If he loves you as much as he's claimed to in the past, he'll realize that he'll come back once he realizes there was no preventing this.
