it's always gotta be the same in my world
it was a cold day in late december, december 20th 1991 to be exact, when makenzie nicole davis was brought into the world to the parents of carrie and john davis. it seemed from the moment that makenzie was born she was like a little firecracker, a little girl with such an outgoing character, always trying to make people laugh and she always had a smile on her face. she was given the nickname "sunshine" by her father because according to him she lit up an entire room with her smile. makenzie grew up around music, back in the day before she was even born her mom and dad were in a band, yes together, dad the guitarist, mom the lead singer. but when the news came that they were pregnant they put a stop to the life on the road and settled back into their 'real jobs' dad a lawyer, mom a teacher, your typical all americal family, really. makenzie though, grew up with a love for music, taking to it before she could even really walk and to this day she hears stories about how she would bop and wiggle in her crib and playpen whenever music was being played. and that probably explains her passion and love for dance now a days. she took after her mom with singing as well, but as outgoing as she is, when it comes to singing seriously for anybody, she gets shy. really, singing in the shower is as far as she goes.

makenzie had been the only child all of her life, she had a close tight-knit relationship with both of her parents, being their only baby girl she was always pretty spoiled and the attention was always on her. that was until two years ago when her mom announced she was pregnant and nine months later kenzie was given a little baby sister, savannah grace. unhappy about it at first makenzie had eventually warmed up to the idea knowing that it didn't matter how much sulking and pouting she did, it wouldn't ever change the fact. now though, with savannah being almost two years old, makenzie would do anything for that little girl and she calls her her mini-me and she really couldn't see her life without having her baby sister and she still feels bad for ever complaining about the little girl because she truly has become her little sidekick who looks up to makenzie - it makes kenzie feel special and important and being a big sister is one role makenzie really takes pride in.

as she grew up, her personality never changed, she was always beaming, always so energetic with this light and this drive in her. she has a quirky kind of personality and she can be a real big dork most of the time, she loves to laugh, it's one of her favorite things to do so it only makes sense that doing what she can to make other people laugh would be something she tended to go out of her way for. underneath that though, is a side she doesn't show very often, her sensitive side. she's the girl who could watch an episode of full house and feel herself getting teary, but when it comes to expressing how she feels emotionally, it can be a difficult task for her, only really ever opening up to one person in her life before - and there is only one person in her life who can even make her as emotional as she can get. most of her thoughts and feelings get expressed through her journals, that's her vice, her sort of therapy, since she was in elementary school with the sparkly pink diaries with the locks on them, she would sit up every night before bed and recollect on her day, of course as she got older the entries written became a lot different than just 'today i went to school. i had a peanut butter and jelly sandwich for lunch, and i rode my bike.' she never really understood the moment she changed from that little innocent girl to the woman she was now, until just recently. the moment she had fallen in love.

makenzie didn't have her first boyfriend until her freshmen year in highschool, perhaps a late bloomer as opposed to some of her closest friends who were crazy about boys all during junior high school, makenzie was too preoccupied with her dance - not only was she ( and still is ) a dancer for the school teams and clubs, but she always did it outside of school at some of the most prestigious dance schools in the area in salt lake city. she lived for competitions and getting up there and doing what she loved and competing for it and winning ribbons, trophies, awards and plaques, which cover her room. so worrying about boys and boyfriends and what guy she could go to the movies with come friday night wasn't what was important to keznie, at least not until her freshmen year when she met an amazing boy who changed her entire outlook on all of it. in so many ways. her first serious relationship and it lasted for a year and four months until it sort of abruptly ended - makenzie hasn't been the same since, though she tries to play it off like she's okay and it doesn't affect her almost a year after the break up, the people that know her, knows that she isn't. she is a firm believer in fate, and that what's meant to be will always be.
