girls become lovers who turn into mothers, so mothers, be good to your daughters too
Olivia Whitehorn came from an upper middle-class pureblood family that mainly made their name by working for the Ministry. As a child, she loved fashion and art. When she graduated from Hogwarts, the Gryffindor alumnus packed up and moved to Paris, the fashion capital of the world (despite her parents’ disapproval) and was determined to make her mark on the fashion scene. For about a year she struggled in a number of minimum-wage jobs and had to face constant rejection in a city where she could barely speak the language.

The McKinnons were known in Scottish wizarding circles as a pureblood, prosperous family, and Marco McKinnon grew up with his siblings in both England and Scotland. The family was mainly known for their Gryffindors, with a handful of Ravenclaws and Hufflepuffs. Marco had always been somewhat of a prodigy, and he graduated from Hogwarts as the Head Boy and an alumnus of Ravenclaw. Following graduation, he immediately went to work in the Ministry. Due to his keen mind and diligent work ethic, he quickly rose through the ranks of the department within a year and a half, surpassing many who have worked in the department for over five years.

It was one fateful day in Paris, a misty fall evening where Olivia had finally struck success with a moderately famous fashion house; they had agreed to showcase her designs in their spring line. In her excitement, she nearly ran over a tall, well-dressed man – Marco, who had traveled to Paris for a business trip. It was clear that the two, after apologising and some small talk, shared an extremely strong connection. They agreed to have a meet the next day. The next eight months passed in a whirlwind of dates, fun, and good cheer. On Olivia’s nineteenth birthday, Marco presented her with an engagement ring. The two families were thrilled and the wedding was a rather extravagant affair, and garnered moderate media attention, with both families pulling a bit of string to announce the ceremony in a full spread in the Daily Prophet, and Olivia’s stunning wedding dress – which she had designed herself.

The happy couple stayed in England and moved in a large, pretty house, where Olivia worked full-time as an up-and-coming fashion designer. When she was pregnant with her first child within two months of their marriage, she didn’t stop working. Melinda Marie McKinnon was born, and three years later, a boy, Matthew Marco was in the world. It was almost magical the way she cared for both her children, and managed to have time to design and open her own boutique in Diagon Alley, Whitehorn-McKinnon, which was a major accomplishment for her.

Their third pregnancy was actually quite a surprise for both Olivia and Marco. The child was born on the 21st of June 1960, and was named Marlene Mirella. Olivia was thrilled – she had always wanted another girl. Marlie, or so she was lovingly nicknamed, grew up to be a bright, if not cheeky girl, who had inherited a rabid love of Quidditch from her father and older brother. Despite the rather large age gap the McKinnon siblings shared, Melinda and Matthew both liked to play with their younger sister, and were always close. Despite the fact that Marlie and Matt fought like cats and dogs sometimes, the two had always shared a special bond.

The McKinnons were a magical family, so it was no surprise when the two older McKinnons received their Hogwarts letters. Marlie can distinctly remember accompanying her brother when he went shopping for supplies, and had always wondered what it would be like to go to Hogwarts, where almost everyone older than her made it out to be some sort of wonderful, lovely, place. As a child, she had tutors and was educated in basic arithmetic, reading, and writing. It was at the age of six when Marlie first showed her magical characteristics; after discovering her lost toy pony that Matt had hidden for over a week, his skin turned into a mess of coloured polka dots.

Her family was always popular and social around England and Scotland, so she ended up knowing a lot of people. She was often lonely when her brother and sister had to go to school, and later, go to work, so she almost always had play dates with other younger witches and wizards. She forged close bonds with a boy named Frank Longbottom and despite that they almost always annoyed each other, her cousin Edgar Bones.

On her eleventh birthday, Marlie, like so many young witches and wizards before her, received her Hogwarts letter. She sat next to her old friend Frank (she had refused to sit next to Ed, as he kept making stupid comments) and a girl named Alice Goodsmith on the Hogwarts Express for the first time, nervous yet extremely excited. What House would she be in? Her mother was a Gryffindor alum, her father, a Ravenclaw. Melinda and Matt had both been Sorted into Gryffindor, and it seemed like the best House out of the four. When the first years stepped forward into the Great Hall, Marlie felt an overwhelming rush of relief – stupid Matt had told her that it would an extremely hard test that had to do with dueling. All they had to do was put on a hat! She practically skipped forward and placed the Sorting Hat on her head. Hmmm. Another McKinnon! Interesting, interesting. Bright, yes, loyal, too. I see a temper, a very sharp temper – now don’t snap at me, dear, I’m only telling the truth! – and courage, yes, plenty of courage. Ah, I know where I’ll place you – GRYFFINDOR!

Despite the fact that the novelty of school almost wore off around the second week or so, Marlie found most things exciting and loved making new friends. She made quick friends with a funny boy named James Potter and Sirius Black, and instantly became best friends with Alice Goodsmith. She was a very bright student, but somewhat lazy. In her third year, Marlie tried out as Seeker for the Gryffindor Quidditch Team and made it, and became known for her astonishing catches and flying maneuvers. As the years went on, the name Marlene McKinnon became well known (also due also to her older sister, Melinda, a Head Girl, and her older brother, Matt, who was a talented Keeper on the Gryffindor Quidditch Team). She dated quite a few boys in her fourth, fifth, and sixth years, though she only considers a few as serious relationships. Though she may not be as intellectually sharp or studious as her siblings, she made a name for herself in her own right as notoriously cute, confident, hilarious, and outspoken (if not quick to rage).

Although she had heard rumours about a madman called Lord Voldemort, this did not really hit home for her until seventh year. Marlie's seventh year found her realising that You-Know-Who was currently gaining power and control, and it was on that fateful night when Dumbledore asked her and a group of other specially selected witches and wizards to join an resistance organisation against You-Know-Who. An additional turning point in her life occurred when she was the lead in a school production, The Wizard of Oz. Agents inquired her to look further into the profession of acting, which she happily did upon graduation. She quickly shot to stardom, enjoying the exhilerating taste of fame. In the meantime, she fell deeply and head-over-heels in love with a very handsome Quidditch player, Vinny Gudgeon.

Marlie is living the high life, but is very passionate in fighting You-Know-Who and his followers. A cheerful and happy person by nature, it is evident to the people that know her best that these dark times have sobered her, made her cautious and wary. Her boggart, which had always been the Grim, has now become her loved ones, dead by the hands of You-Know-Who.

Once the right side has won the war, hopefully with her family and friends safe, she'll be able to breathe easy again. Who knows, maybe she'll be able to fufill her dream of having a family!

boys, you can break, you find out how much they can take
At four feet and eleven inches and at about eighty-five pounds, Marlie is definitely one of the smaller girls of her year, which, in a family with fairly tall genes, definitely did not please her at all. Despite of that, Marlie inherited the good looks that are dominant in both sides of her mother and father’s family. Even as a child, Marlie had always been very pretty, and it seemed as if she had never had had to suffer the awkward, prepubescent transition stage her peers had to go through (save for her somewhat crooked teeth, as she had them corrected at age thirteen).

Her face is heart-shaped, with a round forehead ending a pointed chin. Her wide-set eyes are dark brown, framed with long, thick lashes. Her hair is almost the exact same shade of brown, and is worn long. Her hair is naturally straight, but she uses charms to make it curly or wavy from time to time. Her features are small and even, and are very well proportioned on her face. Her big, infectious smile is perhaps one of her more striking features, with even, straight teeth (thanks to modern wizardry and an excellent cosmetic Healer). Her skin is clear, with a light complexion that turns to a light golden shade once she spends time in the sun, and if you look closely, you can see a light sprinkling of freckles on the bridge of her nose. It is easy to read her emotions based on the expressions on her face; it is not hard to tell when she’s happy or furious.

Because of her active participation in Quidditch, she has developed a fast metabolism. Her figure is slender, but not unattractively so, although Marlie had always lamented the lack of a bust and hips. Because of her mother, she has developed a rather deep affinity for fashion, and loves shopping for clothes, shoes, and accessories. Marlie is definitely the typical “girly girl” when it comes to her appearance, however, unlike most fashionistas, she has a rather charmingly quirky sense of style. Though she indulges in reading fashion magazines, she hates following the fads exactly. She would prefer to wear something no one else is wearing and spice it up, giving it her own edge and making it her own. She loves Muggle clothes, and favours semi-formal clothing such as skirts and dresses, but she also loves wearing male-esque clothing, such as rock-star skinny jeans and tuxedo vests. Platforms and heels are a definite must in her closet (as well as anything that will give her much-needed height). On anyone else, such an eclectic mix would probably look messy, but on, Marlie it’s a look that’s fresh, cool, and trendy. Ever since she was a young girl, she had been playing with makeup, but to Marlie, it is not an essential part of a girl’s beauty regiment. She prefers to keep her makeup simple and light. However, if she had to pick out items that she uses the most, it’s black eyeliner, mascara, and lip gloss, and she uses them almost every day.

Marlie is just like any other girl in that she is sometimes insecure about her appearance. She dislikes the fact that she seems to be missing out on her cosmic share of breasts, hips, and butt, in which her older sister Melinda seems to have inherited, and has always been envious of her older brother Matt’s eyes, which is a pretty shade of dark blue. If she had to pick out something that she dislikes most of all, it would be her petite figure. Many people have estimated her age wrongly as being younger.

but boys would be gone without warmth from a woman's good, good heart
Marlene McKinnon has always been a social person. She likes being friendly, and thrives on being with people, yet there are some things she is perfectly happy on doing on her own. For instance, she loves flying by herself on clear days, and studying by herself – she never could get anything done if she studied with her friends; she always became too distracted.

Marlie often finds herself preoccupied with herself and friends. She is a kind, caring person that loves to laugh and fully believes in the motto, “I work hard, and I play hard.” She loves having fun, and is often the person to sneak into a friend’s house early to try and rouse them up for an exciting day. She loves pranks, both being and participating in them. Even being the butt of them would eventually bring about a laugh. She is perfectly happy spending time with her best and closest friends to peers she barely knows. Friends can confide in Marlie, and even though her position as a confidant has been tested and tempted many times, she has never failed in keeping an important secret. She loves to involve herself in her friends’ lives. Being the busy social bee suits her just fine. However, sometimes her good intentions don’t always go as planned, but no matter what the situation, Marlie’s heart would always be in the right place. Her love can be shown in even the strangest ways, like her half domesticated cat, half Scottish wildcat, Jinx, adopted when he was a raggedy little kitten during a vacation to Scotland. She’s extremely loyal to her friends and family, and tries her best to keep her friends close. Even her older brother, though he now lives in New York City, still receives regular owls and packages from Marlie.

She is a passionate person, full of ideals and exaggerated notions. Over the years, this has suited her just fine, but the last two years had seen her maturing. Instead of charging blindly into a situation, she will take the time to analyze the circumstances (although briefly) and try to be fair, try to slow down. However, this often doesn’t help – one of her most famous traits is her quick, fiery temper. Slytherins, especially, infuriate and enrage her. She is quick with her wand and even quicker with her sharp tongue, always ready for a piercing retort. She has tried to reel and control her temper, but it simply doesn’t help. Once a person sets her off, there’s no turning back until she cools off on her own terms. She is master at holding grudges and bitterness towards her enemies.

Being so passionate is often both an advantage and disadvantage on the Quidditch field. Marlie chooses to believe the former, and like most projects, she always tries putting a hundred percent into playing. Being a Seeker calls for logic and quickness, and Marlie is both, though in her early Quidditch days, she had been yelled at repeatedly for being distracted while watching the status of her other teammates. She’s entirely devoted to Quidditch, and summers are spent not only spending quality time with friends and family and shopping, but learning new, difficult Quidditch moves. She likes surprising her teammates during the new term with her new moves, and though she sometimes flops, her confidence pulls her though, although it’s evident to see that she’d been embarrassed.

She fits the mold of a Gryffindor perfectly, with a heart of pure courage and valiancy. She’s not afraid to speak her mind, to tell you exactly what she thinks. If she’s displeased, you’ll hear about it, and if she’s happy, you’ll know it. Though she doesn’t think of herself like it, she possesses a strong sense of justice, and believes in standing up for what is right, and the persecuted. She is a bright girl with her head placed firmly on her head, and though she finds most of her classes boring and difficult, she learns quickly and picks up on key concepts fast. She is confident, and completely at ease with being herself, being Marlie. Though she has learned over the years to quickly disregard other people’s opinions of her, admittedly, she has found that it is hard to stick to that.

on behalf of every man looking out for every girl, you are the god and the weight of her world
Animal - the Crab
Attributes - Cardinal, water, yin.
Planetary ruler - the Moon.
Keywords - “I FEEL.”
Cancer is the fourth sign of the Zodiac and governs the breast and the stomach. Positive traits include loyalty, a love of home and family, the ability to express emotion, intensity, a great sense of humour, a sense of initiative, tenaciousness, a gift with finances, compassion, shrewdness, and intuition. Negative traits are self-indulgence, moodiness, clinging to other people, bossiness, emotional manipulation, and oversentimentality.

Gryffindors born under the sign of Cancer will root for the home team until their throats are raw. They are deeply loyal to their House (and also to any friends outside of their House, although these may take a back seat to Gryffindor loyalties). Make a friend with a Gryffindor Cancer, and you've made a friend for life. Cancer is a sentimental, yet high achieving sign that dreams often, and dreams big; this combined with the Gryffindor romantic streak creates a quixotic, almost anachronistically chivalrous temperament.

so fathers, be good to your daughters, daughters will love like you do
