character.
Name:
Minerva Alice McGonagall
Age/Birthday: 16, October 4th, 1925
House/Year: Gryffindor, 6th
Bloodline: pure
Personality: Minerva, or Minnie, as some people call her, is a no nonsense type of girl. She doesn't like to beat around the bush, and she hates it when people try to bend the truth. She's honest, all the time, and very blunt. She doesn't see the point in bullshitting people, and she absolutely hates being lied to. She likes rules, and likes following them. She just follows them in her own, special way. She doesn't have what you'd call an aggressive personality, but she is very domineering, and sometimes intimidating. She's very good at transfiguration, just like her father, and really enjoys a good Quidditch match.

Minerva is smart and independent. She makes her own decisions and doesn't let anybody stand in her way. She's not afraid of a challenge, and she can never back down from a dare. She doesn't take any crap from anybody, and doesn't believe in being afraid of people who want something different than she does. She does what she wants, and people can either join her or leave her, she doesn't actually care which they choose to do. She knows how to have fun, and when she's with a good group of friends, she really lets loose. But mainly, she's very reserved and...kind of bitchy. Minerva has loads and loads of house pride. She loves being in Gryffindor, and anyone who doesn't sucks. She also is extremely loyal to her friends and family. If anyone crosses them, she's quick to stand up and fight for them. She can be a bit of a hot-head when it comes down to it.

Family
MOTHER; Alannah [Pinto] McGonagall (38), is a stay at home mom, of course. She keeps the house in order while Gregory is at work, and while Minerva is away at school. She loves to throw parties and gossip with the other mothers. She was born in India, and moved to England at the age of eight. She met Gregory in Hogwarts, and the rest was history. Minerva has an okay relationship with her mother. She doesn't necessarily get along with her all the time, but most of the time, they're just fine.

FATHER; Gregory Allan McGonagall (39), works in the Ministry of Magic as a curse breaker. He's one of the top curse breakers in the ministry, and therefore, is gone for very extended periods of time. He loves his daughter and wife dearly, and always brings them all sorts of exotic presents when he returns from his trips. Minerva is very, very attached to him.

History: Alannah met Gregory McGonagall in 1915, when the two were both in fifth year. They had Charms class together, and one day their eyes met across the room, and that was the end of it. The two were inseparable for the next five years, and two weeks after they graduated, Gregory proposed. Minerva's parents were married in 1920, and tried for five years to have a child. It finally happened in 1925, when Alannah became pregnant with their first and only child, Minerva. She was born on October 4th in Sussex, England, in the McGonagall mansion. The couple tried to have children after her, but failed. So, they focused all of their love and affection onto Minerva.

Minnie was a spoiled child. Her father was gone for long periods of time, so it was just her and her mother in the large house together. Her mother taught her to read, and all the proper manners a girl ought to have. Minerva taught her mother that sometimes you don't have to do everything the way certain people want you to do it. Minerva showed signs of magic at an early age. When she was three, she decided she didn't like her teddy. The next night, her mother came in to find her hugging stuffed cat, instead of bear. She was delighted, and wrote to Gregory right away. He wrote back instantly and sent a little statue of a cat, just for Minnie.

Minnie always loved cats. It started when she was three, when the teddy into a cat incident occurred, and soon she was turning everything into cats, quite inadvertently. Her mother took this as a sign, and bought her her first cat, Fluffy. Fluffy was, well, fluffy and white and Minerva loved her dearly. Unfortunately, Fluffy met an untimely end when one of the animals Gregory brought home with him decided it liked to eat cats. Minnie cried for days. She couldn't even look at another cat until she was eleven, and she received her Hogwarts letter. her father bought her a tabby cat that accompanied her to Hogwarts. The cat's name is Flora, and she couldn't love anything more.

Minnie's Hogwarts career has been a successful one. She's been the top of her class for the past five years, and plans to stay there. She doesn't spend most of her time studying, as a lot of it comes naturally to her, but she does like to be well-prepared. A few weeks before exams she'll start living in the library, studying her brains out. She's also always gone to the Quidditch matches. The Gryffindors, at least. It's the best sport to watch, and she loves when Gryffindor wins. She toyed with the idea of playing on the house team for awhile before she realized she was absolute crap at flying. Ah, c'est la vie, she says. She'll leave Quidditch to the ones that are good at it. When the Muggle war started, Minerva was most concerned with her father, since he was in Germany at the time, but he was able to get home safely. She makes it a point to know what's happening at all times in the muggle world, since what happens there effects them.

Likes: cats, transfiguration, doing things her own way, boys I mean what, flora, school, rules, nice people.
Dislikes:annoying people, dogs, wolves, snakes, birds, ancient runes, divination, potions, smelly things.
PB:Andi Muise
Anything else you feel is important:SHE'S AWESOME, YO.

third.

Minerva leaned back against the couch in the common room, stretching out her long legs to take up the whole thing. There was no one else in the common room, so she really didn't think anyone would mind. And if anyone came in, well, they could sit in a chair then, couldn't they? She picked up her Charms book and began to write her essay when Flora came and jumped on top of it.

"All right," she sighed, petting the tabby, "point taken. I'll stop studying." She sighed again and pet the cat until she dozed off into a nice little nap. She was woken a few hours later but a rough shove and an annoying voice. "Minnie, come on. Get up!"

She glared.

first.

Tom Riddle will not leave me alone. He's my potions partner and to him, that means we have to talk CONSTANTLY. I hate him! He's so annoying, with his creepy talk about how Hitler has the right idea, cleaning out the impurities and don't I agree? Ugh. UGH.

Isn't he a half blood? Wouldn't he have to cleanse himself? Tom, I mean. Not that I care if he's a half blood or a pureblood or a muggle born because whatever he is he's still, incredibly creepy. I feel like he's going to make that sleeping drought and slip it into my pumpkin juice and then kidnap me. And then no one will ever see poor Minerva again! He'll crush my bones and use them to take over the world. Dear Merlin, I am frightened for my life.
