Meghan gets along better with her mother because they share a love of Quidditch, flying and the outdoors. She is more like her father behaviour wise, laid back and has a rather accepting nature. Kirley and Meghan are polar opposites, although they do share the same passionate drive to be the best in their chosen careers.

Appearance.

PB: Eliza Dushku.
Standing at just over 5'6", Meghan is the shortest Keeper in the league. However, don't underestimate her because of her height. This little Scot could beat you in a bar fight and drink you under the table. She has the build of an athlete, thanks to her profession, but she looks feminine enough to not be mistaken for a bloke. Although, with her flowing long brown locks and brown doe-like eyes framed by long lashes, to mistake her for a man would be criminal... either that of you're blind.

Casual is key for this young lass. Meghan is often found in jeans and comfortable tshirts when not in uniform or training gear. She'd prefer to go barefoot than wear heels but doesn't mind running shoes or flats - in fact, the girl only owns four pairs of shoes. Meg is by no means a girly girl but if needed she can dress up in the few plain dresses she owns. However, you would not catch Meghan McCormack dead in anything floral.

Make up for Meghan is usually simple and kept for off the pitch life only. When she goes clubbing, Meg will glam it up a little and even go to the effort of wearing jewelry. A firm staple in her make up kit is red lipstick and dark eyeshadow but she still says Kirley wears more than her.

Personality.

Meghan is usually calm and collected like her father but she does have an underlying competitive streak inherited from her mother. She is a true Hufflepuff - down to earth, hard working and a strong believer in fair play. All traits she bares on and off the pitch. A key example is her opinion on Muggleborn Rights - she believes the Muggleborns have just as much right being in the magical world as purebloods and isn't afraid to tell you her opinion either. Although, that is not to say she is up in your face about it (unless you bad mouth her muggleborn friends and family), she just expresses her views straight up if asked.

Honest is a word often associated with Meghan. Too often has she seen people lie in her career and have the lie come back and bite them in the arse. She just doesn't think lying is worth it. If you want an honest opinion about something you can always count on Meg to give it - even if the truth would hurt. However, she is also protective of those she loves and if asked a personal question about herself or her family, Meghan will skillfully skirt around the issue till you forgot you asked the personal question in the first place. Having a famous mother helped her a lot with dealing with the press and the general public.

She is a tomboy with a girly centre and has no qualms with getting her hands dirty and playing with the big boys. (A prime example is when she faces off against the giant Falcon Chasers). Meg has the makings of a fine leader but also has no problems with taking direction either.

LIKES: Quiddith, flying, dancing at clubs, hanging out with family and friends, listening to music
DISLIKES: People judging others before they get to know them, the hate of Muggleborns, taste of Skele-gro, being injured
HABITS: Always goes for a run at 5am, even during the off season. Wears a cheap string bracelet tied on her left wrist for good luck during matches. She likes to make sure everyone is present and do a head count inside her head before going anywhere in a group.
VICES: Is one of those annoyingly happy morning people. When she does drink - she can drink most men under the table... although, she has nothing on Kirley and some of the other Weird Sisters.

History.

Meghan McCormack was born on a typical January morning in 1973 - it was pouring down with rain - to Hallam Duke and Catriona McCormack. She was the couple's second child as they already had their hands full with a nearly two year old Kirley Duke, but a welcome addition to the little family all the same. Meg doesn't remember much of her early years but from what she has been told she was very much Kirley's baby and subjected to many a song from the future rockstar.

As she got older, Meghan and Kirley had the typical sibling relationship - best friends one minute, hating each others' guts the next. However the times they got along far outweighed the sibling squabbles. Meghan was more of an outdoor type person and loved to play sports. By the age of four she was already zooming around the back garden on a toy broom. Sure the thing only flew a few feet off the ground but she loved it.

She is more like her father, fairly easy going but extremely passionate about the things she loves. Meghan's great love was Quidditch - which some would say she inherited from her mother, a Pride of Portree player - and loved going to watch her mother play until she retired from the sport just before Kirley left for Hogwarts. It was at one of the games that Meghan and Hallam became separated from Kirley and Meghan tried to use her loud voice to call for her big brother. Thankfully, one of the other Prides' kids found Kirley and brought him back to their stand. Her name was Roberta McLintoch (or Bobby, as she prefers) and Meg was pleased to have her brother back. She had never been more afraid in her short life. Now Meghan always makes sure everyone is present before heading out somewhere in a group, much like a mother duck counting all her ducklings.

While Kirley learnt guitar off their father, Meghan spent more time outside and badgering her mother into giving her flying and Quidditch lessons. Catriona, thrilled to have a child that seemed to have an interest in the sport she loved, was only too happy to give her only daughter the lessons she desired. And by the time Meghan went off to Hogwarts, she already was well ahead of her age group in flying ability - which she had no qualms with showing during first year flying lessons... of course, the detention she got afterward for being a show off was a bit of a downer.

At Hogwarts, Meghan was a natural Hufflepuff. Hard working, determined - her grades were not the best but she always tried her hardest which was all her parents could ask for. The one thing Meghan did excell at was, of course, Quidditch. She was an easy pick after she tried out in her second year and was the team's Keeper right through to graduation. In sixth year, Meghan was made Captain, a role she took very seriously. She was a fair Captain and always tried to help her team push themselves to their full potential. Unfortuantly it wasn't enough for her team to win the Quidditch Cup, but they had tried and Meghan took the defeat graciously - the Hufflepuff trait of fair sportsmanship beating her disappointment of a loss.

In June 1991, Meghan graduated with fairly average grades, earning 5 NEWTs (A's in DADA, Potions and COMC and E's in Herbology and Transfiguration) but her desired career was to always be a Quidditch player, like her mother. Of course, Meg wasn't too worried if she ended up on the Prides or not but once Portree found out she had trials with Tutshill and the Magpies, they offered the young McCormack a contract to play on the Reserves for them without a tryout. Meg didn't think it was fair she was offered a contract just because of her name and tried out for the Montrose Reserves instead, earning herself a two year contract.

After her contract was up at the end of the 1993-1994 season, Meghan then signed with Portree (who had gone under new management and wanted to sign her for being her and not because of she was Catriona McCormack's daughter). She has been with the Pride of Portree ever since and has earnt quite the name for herself in her own right.
