They were going to be careful. That was one of the conditions that Annie had laid out when her and Sam started having sex. That they were going to be careful. And they were. Always. Annie cared for Sam a lot. She really did, and he hadn't pressured her or anything when they started dating, and let waited until she was ready, and it meant a lot to her.
But still, this was completely unexpected, considering how careful they normally were. But Annie wasn't mad at Sam or anything. Accidents happened. It took two people to make a baby, and she was just as responsible as he was. Her brain was already spinning, and freaking out at him was just going to make it worse. This was going to be just as stressful for him as it was for her.
Sam was coming over to see her soon. Annie paced across the room, tapping the pregnancy test in her hand impatiently.
