PLAYER
Name:Molly
Age: 17
Previous RP Experience: Five years or so, several different games—two long-term.

CHARACTER

Personal Statistics

Name: John Walter Davis
Nickname:  Jack
Gender:  Male
Age:  20
Birthday: July 23, 1923

Heritage: American—English roots
Affiliation: Airman Basic in the USAF

Appearance

Basic Overall Physical Description:
Jack’s got light, fluffy bond hair that he keeps parted to the side, and bright blue eyes. Some of the other guys tell him he could be Hitler’s Poster boy, much to his chagrin. Jack certainly isn’t lacking in height, standing at a tall 6’1”. He’s got an athletic build—broad shoulders and small hips, and is fairly fit.

Height: Tall, around 6’1”.

Dress: His uniform. Back at home… his uniform. When not in school, Jack pretty much looks like the cookie-cutter WASP-y New England boy. Preppy and tailored, definitely not on the ‘cutting edge’ or anything of the sort. Needless to say, he wasn’t the type to sport a leather jacket before he joined the Air Force.

Played By: Christopher Egan

Personality

Basic Personality:
Jack has always been known as the good boy, the smart one, the prodigal son and… not much else. Ever since he was a young boy, Jack was groomed to pay attention and to listen without complaint—and to abide by each and every rule his parents and society laid out for him. Sure, Jack was just as mischievous as the other little boys in the neighborhood, but he knew that there was a time and a place where it was okay. As he grew older and started school, that side of him seemed to disappear a little bit.

Jack was an excellent student and a favorite among teachers. He’d left school as Most Handsome and Most Likely to Succeed, which his parents regarded as a great honor. Jack, however, seemed un-phased. It was rare that he ever showed any true emotion; he sort of thought that it was taboo. Jack came from a household where a firm clap on the back was the biggest show of affection; showing any sort of emotion—aside from dignified laughter and charming smiles—was frowned upon.

Jack does seem a bit distant, but he’s easily able to turn on the charm when he needs to. He was constantly on display at his parents’ parties, and had to learn to talk to all sorts of people… usually about things that were very, very boring. That’s one skill that has followed Jack overseas—he’s able to make lively conversation with anyone. Still, there is an air of… insincerity, almost—perhaps mystery would be more fitting. Jack doesn’t really open up to anyone.

Enlisting was a huge, huge change for Jack. He doesn’t know what possessed him to do it, but he doesn’t regret it at all. Serving has helped him come out of his shell a little—smile and joke around and even get into some trouble. Jack is actually rather fond of pranks and wreaking a bit of havoc. He’s a really good liar, too, and his boyish face and obvious naivety help get him—and cohorts—out of a lot of trouble. Jack is an entirely different person now from when he first started serving—he’s louder and friendlier and even lounges around the pub with some of the other soldiers.

Needless to say, his parents would be horrified with him.

One thing that hasn’t changed, though—Jack has never had much interest in girls. He’d always been busy at school and had never really thought about girls, and that didn’t really change when he was stationed at Chipping Ongar. He’s still a virgin—something he gets teased for quite a bit by other soldiers on base—and hasn’t even had a girlfriend. With the multitude of comfort girls hanging around the planes, though… well, he figures it’ll only be a matter of time.

Despite how reserved and, well, repressed he is, Jack is still quite a good soldier. He’s usually one of the first to volunteer for anything needed around the base, whether it’s cleaning machinery or an extra hand at mealtime. He’s smart and cautious, and is well on his way to moving up a bit in the ranks. Despite how young and innocent he looks, Jack certainly isn’t afraid of hard work or even a bit of danger, and he definitely knows his way around a Marauder.

Strengths: Jack has always loved art, and is actually the go-to man for nose and jacket art on base. Those naked ladies adorning the B-26’s? Yep, that was him.
Flaws:
People-pleaser, unable to stand up for himself, quiet at times, a little distant, quite reserved and private
Likes: Painting and sketching, smoking, reading, working with his hands
Dislikes: cooking, parties, writing letters, most green vegetables
First Impression:  Charming, actually close to perfect—though a little quiet.
Goals/Dreams:  Staying alive? He’s a bit confused as to what he wants when he goes home.
Fears:  He’s a bit afraid to take risks concerning his personal life—his family is so well-known and respected back at home, and he’s afraid to tarnish that in any way. Basically, he’s grown up doing and being what was asked of him, and is afraid of disappointing anyone in any way.

 Family

Parents:
Evelyn and William Davis
Sibling(s): Older brother William, older sisters Mary and Margaret
Children:  None
History:  The Davis family was always the picture of perfection—a large brick house in the suburbs, gracefully seated in a church pew every Sunday, the children always at the top of the Dean’s list. It always seemed as if there was very little wrong with the Davises, and, well, nothing was.

Evelyn and William met in high school, and got engaged shortly after graduating and Evelyn quickly got pregnant with their first child, William Jr. Both Evelyn and William came from affluent families, and right from the start, they had a very comfortable life in a rather ritzy section of Ithaca, New York. After his parents died, William was the only heir to his family’s small fortune, which spared his family from many hardships during the Depression.

All of the Davis children were sent to the best schools, Mary and Margaret to Lauralton Hall, Jack and his brother to Cheshire Academy. Even away at boarding school, Jack was the perfect son. He was always the favorite of his parents, though he never boasted or was ever quite proud of that. While Jack studied at school, his older brother William entered the seminary and his sisters quickly married their high school sweethearts. After graduation, Jack was offered a seat in Yale—due, in part, to the hefty donation his parents made to the institution.

Much to his family’s dismay, Jack enlisted shortly after the attacks on Pearl Harbor. He’d always been a reserved, quiet boy, and the seemingly sudden change shocked Evelyn and William—along with the rest of the WASP-y Davises. Leaving his Yale education behind and ignoring the vehement protests of his parents, Jack headed off to begin training, and eventually ended up in the United States Army Air Force.
