♫ nine
Woke up to a bright sunny morning
And them I heard the news
Another heart has been broken
Another life has been taken
They say it's same old tune

Well, it still hits me like thunder
Makes me ache like I could die
I want to sit down and shed a tear
But then I sadly ask myself
What good would that ever do?

Oh, I ain't a soldier
And honey, neither are you
So tell me, how can we end this war
When we're fighting over something
That's something we can't choose

This new tattoo on my arm
It doesn't change the man within
Let me be the one to let you know
My blood, it still runs red
And yours will always run red, too

Now, I'm not going to make you to listen
But I'm hoping you will change
Consider what it's like to be the one
With a mother, a father, a wife, a child
Who'll be killed for being different than you

All I'm asking for is a little wish to be granted
All I'm asking for is a little good to be done
All I'm asking for is a little change in you
All I'm asking for is a little love in the world
