I don't think many of the people on my list are fans of Detective Conan. Okay I mean I'm sure people have heard of it, but I don't know many people on my friends list who read it at each update like I do. Tragic. You're all missing out. Seriously. I love series that like never freaking end.

Anyway basic premise of the whole series genius high school detective makes one stupid wrong move at the start of the series and is poisoned and left for dead. Only instead this experimental poison doesn't kill him but reverts him back to the body of a grade schooler. Fun stuff. From time to time due to certain odd circumstances he's been able to revert back to his former body though always temporarily. No permanent cure is available to him yet, so for the time being he has to live like he's some grade school kid at his best friend's (who is a girl he likes) house. You know since her dad is a detective and might one day stumble on a case that will relate to his attackers ect....

Anyway I love solving cases and that sort of thing so with tiny arcs of tons of murder mysteries it keeps Vi happy. Alas we stumble into the recent chapter. There is a case that was solved by Shinichi (Conan) way back before the story we know began. Someone wrote him and told him he made a mistake and he's wrong. Fuck that he knows he's right so even though he's a kid now he and Heiji (who knows his secret) go to check it out. Bringing in tow their two female friends who are out of the loop of the secret of the shrunken detective. (I'm horrible at explaning things but I figure if anyone reads this rant it's valid information.)

So moving on we find out through the chapter that Conan has taken, accidentally instead of cold medicine, the prototype cure that Haibara was working on. So while he's there, and luckily alone, he starts to revert back to his former body. In a desperation to get out of the room where he's waiting to meet the person who claims his previous verdict on the case is wrong, he climbs out a window. Which lead right out and down to a cliff overlooking the ocean. Doh.

Anyway everyone and their mom is searching for Conan at this point some nearby people mention some naked high school student washed up on the beach and that they had brought him a towel. Ran (Conan/Shinichi's female friend) runs up and calls out his name in shock seeing him there. Which he responds with "Shinichi? Is that my name."

Holy fuck it's amnesia. Haha fun plot twist. Now my inital thought is they gave him amnesia because well....he already knows how to solve the case therefore making this massively unfun. Plus how fun would it be to fuck with a character like this. A guy who has been spending a good chunk of time latley pretending to be a grade schooler named Conan? I digress though.....that apparently isn't the obvious answer here....the obvious answer here is this.

The mangaka was married to the voice actor of Conan. He's just rush ending the series now because they got divorced and he doesn't want to have to work with her anymore. *head desk* What the hell? I seriously just see this as just another interesting arc. Other people see it as a crappy ending. I seriously hope I'm right and their wrong. Though if that theory is right well then....he's just immature.
