I'd like to change some money avocet xlmg It will be a long time before the electric car will become a first family car, mostly they are used as second cars for the well off people so why give them a £5.000 subsidy, they do not contribute towards road maintenace as pay no road tax, they only pay 5% VAT on electricity to charge them when electricity is going to be in short supply, they do pay fuel duty and VAT like the petrol/diesel car, despite this they still get the £5K subsidy. These cars are not as green as they claim as battery manufacture and disposal is not cheap and I doubt any of these cars will have a long life like many present cars do. The electricity they use is also subsidised by all households with green tax on energy and going to get worse.
