NAME: Oliver James Wendell AGE/BIRTHDAY: 15; January 22, 1995 GRADE: 10th Grade - Sophomore CLASS: Upper Middle Class. They're not rich, but Ollie doesn't want for much.
FAMILY: Mom & Dad, twin sister. Ollie is close to his family, especially to his sister. SEXUALITY: Straight. ACTIVITIES: Football.
APPEARANCE: He's got an athletic build, tall, with broad shoulders. He's not quite as built as a lot of other football players, but he's surprisingly adept when it comes to tackling, as if he's got a lot more strength than his size would suggest, but that could also just be sheer fierceness. He stands at 5'11" and weighs right around average for his height, but his identity as Ares really comes through on the field and makes him seem more formidable than his actual stature.
His dark blonde hair is usually worn pretty shaggy, despite his parents' insistence that he get it cut. Girls like the mussed look, he tells them, and he stubbornly refuses to change it. His skin is usually tanned, evidence of the hours he spends outside in the summer time and he tends to smile quite a lot, especially around his family. PLAYED BY: Alex Pettyfer
LIKES: football, girls, parties, junk food
DISLIKES: sitting still, studying, boredom
STRENGTHS: friendly, easygoing, charismatic, loyal
WEAKNESSES: ADD, thrill-seeker, rash, impulsive
DETAILED PERSONALITY: Daring is definitely a good word to describe the male half of the Wendell twins. He doesn't seem to have a fearful bone in his body and there's very little he won't try once, especially if you dare him to or catch him in one of his more hyper moods. He's a big-time thrill seeker and the more dangerous something is, the more he seems prone to do it. Skydiving, bungee jumping - you name it, he's either tried it or he wants to try it. He likes to do those kinds of crazy things just because he can.
He's a little bit ADD, too. His natural intelligence doesn't shine through, sometimes, because it's really hard for him to stay focused on anything for long (attention span? what's that?) and he tends to prefer action to talking or learning. He does better in applied classes, PE classes and sports or classes where he is actively doing something and less well when he has to sit still and just listen. His grades are surprisingly good, though, because he's learned to focus when he has to and he does have his ADD medication that helps when he remembers to take it.
Ollie acts more like a big brother than a twin sometimes. He's fiercely protective of his twin sister Jessica and of any of the other females in his life. The boy has quite and temper when it comes to seeing the people he loves hurt and he will immediately go after anyone who is mean to his sister or his best friend Libby. He doesn't think it through at all, so it often leads to TROUBLE, but he always says it's worth it, even when he's being lectured for managing yet another detention, because he was defending his sister's honor.
He's a friendly guy, too, always seeming to be happy, always willing to lend a hand or do what he can to make other people happy. He doesn't care about being popular or anything, but if that happens as a side-affect of his generally cheerful and friendly personality, all the better.
HISTORY: Ollie was born the fraternal twin of [Name] Wendell on a cool winter day in Seattle, Washington. He and his family continued to live there until his dad got a better job in Chicago, which relocated the whole family to The Windy City. Ollie wasn't very happy about this at first, but he adapted and soon came to regard the city as home, easily making friends and settling into life in a new city.
He started playing football when he entered junior high and it was something he truly enjoyed. Ollie became a different person on the field - fierce and violent, filled with a sort of bloodlust. He was good at the game, better than you would guess when taking in his relatively small frame and it didn't hurt that it brought him his fair share of girls wanting his attention.
He was diagnosed with ADD as a child, too, and even though he doesn't know if it relates to his Tale, he figures the two things probably don't help each other. He tries really hard to remember his medication and stay focuses, but, of course, there are some days he just can't manage to keep himself under control as well as he'd like.
His hard work has paid off, though. He's a sophomore in high school, with about a 3.0-3.5 average, which is pretty good when you have trouble focusing. He's not in AP classes or anything, but he feels pretty proud of what he's accomplished and he's looking forward to going off to college when the time comes. Maybe one day he'll even play for the NFL.
