Oh my god, I'm finished.

Obviously I've finished stories before, but nothing of this scale. Or, let's be honest, quality.

74,892 words.

I don't know what to do with myself now.

मुझे नहीं मालूम

So does this mean the next time I see you we won't get to pretend we are thesauruses and try to figure out more edgy words, so you don't use the same bland adverbs over and over again?

I think I might be a little saddened by this development.

Congratulations, Bookboy.

Don't be sad. We could always do that anyway, just for fun. If nothing else we'll kick everyone's asses at Scrabble.

Thanks. I've had a pretty good muse lately.

Uh...Bookboy?

Other people obviously don't put enough value into good old fun like we do. Such a shame.

And a rousing game of Nick-and-Savy-own-your-butt-at-Scrabble is in order, I'll have to talk to Ry and Bro.

Wow, did I actually type that out and not realize it? Go me.
I thought it was time you got a pet name?
Well... one of the girls I work with christened you Bookboy awhile back? I think you got off better than Jewfro.

Yes, we'll have to set that up. Make use of our impressive vocabulary. Tell Ry to bring a girl. Not that I'm paranoid or jealous or anything, but seriously...

Bookboy and Jewfro? Awesome. We sound like D-list superheroes.

What else is one to do with this genius of ours? I've really been itching to use qindarka, zoeae or bezique for quite some time. The last one is a 77-point word, yanno.

D-list? Bah. I'd at least go with B-list. At the very least.

I'm waiting to use "qi", just becuase that's an evil thing to do.

Aw, I'll totally take B-list. What kind of powers go with names like that though? Speed reading and... no, you know, I'm not even going to go there.

You scheming maniacal fiend! Qi's just the first step down a long road of darkness and debauchery, Nick.

Not even going to go where? Inquiring minds are interested in where 'there' is.

You're on to me. Wednesday I use qi, and then by Thursday I'll be invading Poland.

There was just no good politically correct follow up to that. I'm going to stick with speculating on the possible powers of Bookboy. Let's see, speed reading, what else? Alphabetizing shelves? Bringing down bad guys with Dewy Decimal Discs and the Bookarang?

The Wojsko Polskie has nothing on you.

Yep, agreed. And I'm actually sort of jealous of said powers, I mean I know the Dewey Decimal System has my back, but damn... I have nothing on speed reading and alphabetizing shelves. Perhaps you've got some sort of utility book? You could hollow out a section of old Encyclopedia Britanicas, and store whatever you need in there?

Jesteś taka uprzejma.

Don't be jealous - Surfgirl must have some awesome powers too. That would be useful though, the utility book. I'll have to include that in the plans for my secret fortress.

Google translator has failed me, I was going to try and say something disgustingly cute back in Polish, but Google has yet again forsaken me.

Bookboy and Surfgirl? Now those are some amazing codenames there. Tankgirl and Beastboy are going to be pissed that they have just moved down the ladder of coolness a few rungs.

You just can't count on Google for everything. More than half their translations are dead wrong anyway. The Vietnamese is laughable and the Mandarin misses any sort of context. How about this: Jesteś tak piękna.

Those are hard to beat. Now we're going to have to go out and fight crime. Or commit crime? I don't know. I think I more of a crime fighter than a super villain at heart. The invasion of Poland not withstanding.

((*You are so beautiful.))

Well now I'm trying to think of something, and Whoa, I've got a handsome bro for a boyfriend just seems a little cliche and forced at this point. Oh, me and my silly girlish ways.

I can't really see you as some dastardly foe, but then again I'm just being exposed to such things as your use of 'qi'. I say it's still up for debate, although I think I'm too socially awkward to be a supervillian. Ho-hum.

[Nick]

What if Surfgirl did have some sort of powers? Like the ability to control the emotions of people around her? What would Bookboy think about that?

So. Yeah. I'm pretty sure I'm not insane. Ryvre and Brody can do stuff too, and I

Nah, I think sounds just right.

[Savy]

Bookboy would be surprised, but he'd believe it.

I knew you were making me happy Savy, I didn't realize that might literally be the case though.

This must be the part where I tell you that I think I actually have some sort of power too. You know all the little phrases in different languages and stuff? It's not just some weird hobby. It's because I'm fluent in them. Like, all of them.

Why do I still get all oh my gosh-y when you say stuff like that, even when we're dealing with something serious here?

So you've lost an adorable quirk in my book, but have gained a possible super power... that can still be conveyed into said adorable quirk? Did that come out right?

I feel like I should tell you that that time you were all excited about watching old Kristen Dunst 90's chick flicks with me... I might have had something to do with it.

So Bookboy and Surfgirl do have superpowers? Huh.

At least if I'm crazy, I'm in good company.

As long as it's adorable?

You know, in retrospect, that does seem kind of suspicious. Not that she isn't a fine actress and all that...

They do. We do. Huh. Go us?

I'm sure if you gave me a minute or two, I could think up a few synonyms.

Eh, I honestly think she's a horrible actress, but who doesn't love cheesy 90's movies that are completely ridiculous and predictable?

I suppose so. And will try not to make you watch cheesy 90's movies with me again, but I can't make any promises.

Well there is still editing and tweaking and all that stuff, but mostly...

Yep! I wrote 'the end' on the page and everything. Now I'll have to come up with new reasons to hide in the back room with a notebook on slow days.

The two best words in the whole thing. Or at least the ones that took the longest to get to.

Sure, I can just see us playing hangman. We'll have to draw out really elaborate scaffolds to got with the obscure thirteen letter words with no vowels.

I expect an autographed copy, so I can prove to everyone that I'm friends with the guy who wrote a backwards book.

That should make things easier. And we'll be less likely to get bored with each others shit and just make paper airplanes instead...
