A Year Ago
Alex slowly climbed the stairs to her loft. She was tired. It had been a long night and she wanted nothing more than to fall into her nice soft bed, pull the covers over her head and pass out for a day or so. Life was tough and it was one that had lasted way too long. She was only over two thousand years old.

She smiled and put her hand in her pocket to caress the beautiful diamond and sapphire necklace. Alex wouldn't have stolen it, but the woman wearing it had been the biggest bitch and didn't deserve something that nice. The woman had practically been begging Alex to steal it.

With a long content sigh, she unlocked the door and entered her loft. Immediately she knew something wasn't right. Someone else had been in her space and was still here. Well no use in fumbling around in the dark. Alex switched on the light.

Bright lights. Something that Arielle had never been good with, at least, not in her shadow form. She struggled to maintain it, not wanting to be found out, but soon Alex would find a girl to be falling almost out of the wall, as Arielle's shadow form broke, and she landed on all fours. She struggled to go back into it...but no luck.

Seeing no other option, Arielle paniced. She ran straight for the door.

	"Are you here to steal something specific, or just trying to steal in general? Is it for your own personal gain, or did someone put you up to it? Or are you the do it for the challenge type?" Alex knew the reasons for stealing. In her case it was the challenge of the theft. Something had to keep her occupied for thousands of years. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

Arielle inhaled. Only David really knew about her past before the Pushers, and if you talked about the Pushers? You got shut up for good. "I ran away from home," she said, "About a year ago. My Dad, for lack of a better word, was an absolute douchebag that dappled in using me as a target for his drunken rage. My mom's out of the picture. I got away, and I fell in with this guy, David. He runs this gang...you might have heard about them on the news every so often, the Pushers. He likes giving drugs to teens to give them "special" powers, like enhanced strength and all that good stuff. Well, when he gave the drugs to me, he thinks that they triggered my 'dormant metahuman gene', whatever the hell that is. I'm the perfect cat-burglar, I can slip into the shadows and get in and out, without any notice. Until now, that is." Arielle looked down at the ground. "I know it's wrong, what I do. I want out. But you don't just go telling David that you want out of the Pushers." Arielle bit her lip. She'd said to much, and she really didn't want to go into detail about what David did to her when she told him she wanted out.

Alex smiled. "Perfect cat-burgler, huh? Well not so perfect since I caught you." Alex motioned for the girl to have a seat. "I understand about being in a difficult situation. Sometimes fate or the gods have plans for us. Personally I don't see anything wrong with stealing." She smiled more and looked around the room. Most of the items in the room had been stolen by Alex at some point. Not to mention the villa full of stolen items she had in Italy.

"I will help you if you really want to get out. "New name, new identity and a new town if you want. I can easily make these things happen." Alex herself had much experience with setting up new identities and new lives.
