At least not tonight. He hasn't admitted to her what's holding him back. Although if he did she'd probably shoot down those things pretty quickly. Because the opposite sides of the law excuse wasn't valid as long as they were working together, and the trust thing, well she'd proven he could trust her in some way. That left the minor issues.
"I need to get you a present," he muses quietly.
