He slides in from the passenger's seat into the driver's just as she gets out. They've timed this well and the car stays in control during it.
Now pedal to the metal. He floors it and the tires screech as they zoom forward, weaving through traffic at break-neck speeds. The way the car swerves so close to others might have someone panic, but Thomas has done this before. Granted, as nice as this car was it was no Batmobile but it'd do just fine.
