He might need to remind himself that he shouldn't offer distractions when she was tipsy. Wouldn't be a good idea.
"I don't see the appeal of watching other people's stupidity but I'll give this a try because you like it." Although the inability of some of the characters to use common sense might have him needing a distraction because he'll be annoyed enough.
