He's just a tad over protective of her.
"Acrobat is a skill and side thing for us," he responds. "What were you hoping for?" Normally he doesn't talk about the baby much, he still feels it's a personal failing on his part that he slipped up like that, but he knows he needs to get past that and this is him trying.
