Remus nodded and took a step forward that he didn't realize he took. He averted his eyes."G-good, then," he said with another little awkward nod. He paused, and his gaze flicked back to Sirius' "Because I'm-" He couldn't do this. He couldn't. This was Sirius. This was his best mate he couldn't just throw all of that away for a few kisses. (A few very good kisses, mind you, but he still couldn't that wasn't the point.)
He realized how close he was and so he took a step back and leaned against the island in the center of the kitchen. They were still only about two feet apart. Remus thought it was too far. But that wasn't right, was it? Sirius was just supposed to be his friend. He wasn't supposed to want to snog him. "So. Er. James ask out Lily yet?" Remus winced at his own cowardice.
