The girls have no problem with this suggestion. Except that it's a fact of nature and practice that they are much faster than he, and so, fear or not, they keep stopping to make sure he's coming along.
The den isn't especially far. And soon after they're in the clearing beside it, there's a lot more movement into the trees behind them.
And snarling. And a sickening crushing sound.
