Some Point in the Future
"Now, pay close attention, Miranda. Your uncle has never steered you wrong before, right?" Vincent pushes his niece's chair closer to the table, before putting a plate between them. They each have a cup.

"These, are cups of milk, and this is a plate of Double-Stuf Oreos. Accept nothing thinner. Watch this." He picks up one cookie, and instructs her to do the same. "Normally your dad would teach you this, but he doesn't like junk food. But because we love him, we keep him anyway, and your favorite uncle will always step up to do the stuff that makes your father's back go all stiff.

Now, hold the cookie, that's right... and twist like this. Very good! Now, lick the side with only a little bit of frosting, then put it back together.

Now, we dunk. And this is why we washed our hands first. Make sure you submerge the whole part you're going to bite."

And so, Vincent Vernard and his favorite niece have cookies.
