Our story begins on September 1st, 1997. There is a distinct lack of the usual tingle of anticipation that comes with the start of term - while Hogwarts claims to remain a bastion of safety, no one can ignore the eerie chill in the air. With the appointment of Pius Thicknesse as Minister of Magic, the summer of 1997 saw the arrest and imprisonment of many Muggleborns. Dorms that were once full are now empty, housing only a fraction of the students that once lived there. The only House that remains intact is Slytherin, whose students returned to school ready for a year when they could finally come into their own. And there are some students who are just plain Missing In Action - most notable of those being Harry Potter, Ron Weasley, and Hermione Granger. With the Ministry getting more and more corrupt, with the death toll rising daily, and with two cruel new teachers at Hogwarts, it's only right that the average Hogwarts student should wonder...WHO LIVES?
