FULL NAME Rosamund Hadley Wyndham
NICKNAME Rosie only, please, and that's only if you must. She prefers Rosamund and probably always will.
AGE & BIRTHDATE 1 December 1961 & 18 years old.
GENDER Female
BLOOD STATUS Muggleborn
HOUSE Gryffindor seventh
SEXUAL ORIENTATION Bi-curious. She has had thoughts of women and wondering what it would be like to be with a woman, but since she hasn't done that yet, she's still considered "straight".
BACKGROUND & PAST It was a sunny afternoon when Rosamund Wyndham was born. Her mother was a single parent, trying to make it in the world. There were no brothers or sisters before her, nor where there any afterwards. Melinda Wyndham was barely 17 years old when her only daughter was born, making things very rough for the two of them. Even though it was all a mistake in having a baby and actually keeping it, she wouldn't have traded her little girl in for the world. Things were rough at first since they bounced from home to home, not sure where they would stay next, but Rosamund always had a roof over her head and something to eat and clothes on her back. Nothing was reliable growing up, except she could count on the essentials and her mother's love.

Most little girls are the apple of their father's eye. She wanted to be like that, but instead she dreamed of a far off place in her mind where princesses lived with their king fathers. Never having met the man, she thought he was a king, some really important person that had important things to do and that was why he couldn't be around to love her and spoil her with all the toys the other children seemed to get from their fathers. But that didn't matter to her; someday she'd meet her daddy, and he'd love her like he was suppose to. The day she met him, though, everything came shattering down around her, causing her world to turn upside down and making her see things how they really were.

But before all that could happen, she had to finish growing up. Finally when she was just about to turn 9, her mother settled in a flat on the outskirts of London. She had a steady job that paid steady, and Rosamund could finally meet some friends! In the surrounding flats, there were a few boys and girls her age that she played with everyday. She'd go to a muggle school and learn her math, science and english, then come home to go straight to the park without a second worry. She loved her friends, loved her neighbourhood and just loved school. She wasn't expecting anything else in life.

When she turned 11, there was a knock on her door. Expecting it to be some man her mother was dating, Rosamund answered it. Instead she found a woman standing there, wearing a long black robe. She looked nice and smiled prettily down at her. When she called for her mother, they all sat down in the living room for a talk. Hogwarts. What a place that was. It seemed just like the world she thought of when she was a child! Maybe her daddy was there. That caused her to smile and beg her mother to let her attend this special, magical school. Relenting, Melinda agreed to send her daughter off for a better education, for a better chance at life and to get the things she couldn't get.

She found Hogwarts to be both scary and magical. At first she was shy, very withdrawn and not the normal girl she used to be. Being that far from home really got to her, making her sad, and she would cry almost every night, quietly into her pillow. The man who was her father wasn't around. He was no where to be seen. This wasn't what she had in mind. For the first four years, she went through classes with her head down, and she barely made any friends. Her roommates were nice enough, but she was just too heartbroken and sad to really try and make good friends. She missed her friends at home, which devestated her more when she realised they wouldn't be joining her. It wasn't fair.

And life was about to get more unfair. In the summer leading into her fifth year she finally met her father. Her fantasies were coming true by meeting him. Her mother had decided that she was old enough to handle finally meeting the man that gave up his sperm for her. Having received his name and phone number on a piece of paper, she dialed him one night and they talked for a lengthy period of time, until she brought up meeting him. He agreed, though it seemed reluctant -- that alone should have been a warning. At first he was really nice, showering her with love and affection, but after a month, he changed. Her mother had warned her, but she hadn't listened like always. It crushed her, absolutely crushed her, when she heard her father talk to another woman that his daughter meant nothing to him, that he had met her to shut her up because he hadn't really cared about Melinda or the baby she had carried. That stung really bad, and she ran home crying. For a week, she locked herself in her room, just crying and not eating. All she wanted to do was make herself better for him. It occured to her what it was by staring in the mirror -- she was too fat. Even though she was skinny already, she found herself wanting to be skinnier to win her father's love. If she could be skinny, maybe he'd want to be around her and be proud of her. He always seemed to be around small women that were tall and leggy. Maybe that was the key to her father's love.

That's when she started throwing up her food. At first it was a meal here and there she'd bring back up, but soon it was every meal; she couldn't keep food in her stomach, without the fear of gaining weight. This went on for many months, to the point where she had to wear sweatshirts and sweaters all the time to just to keep warm. She was very skinny, nibbling on fruits every now and then and drinking a lot of water. Right after she had taken the OWLs in her fifth year, she collapsed in the hallways. By some miracle and chance, Keegan Robins had been walking by and found her on the floor. Immediately he brought her up to the hospital wing where it was determined she had a problem, a very big problem. No one seemed to notice it before then, but there was her problem as plain as black and white. Over the next several months she went into consueling, getting help for her problem and slowly piecing her life back together. It was a long road she traveled, but she finally got a little better with each day.

Now everyday is a struggle for her, but she has her self confidence and tries to make it through. She knows she could fall off the wagon and start throwing up once again, but she hopes not to.

APPEARANCE Growing up, Rosamund was always below chart levels. She's not very tall, barely hitting five feet and her weight is perfect for her size (for a change. See HISTORY for more details). There's nothing special about her or unusual for that matter; she's just a normal girl that blends into the crowd. Her hair is naturally blond (thank you), though people like to think otherwise. Her eyes are a normal brown that sometimes turn hazel when she's in a good mood. Clothes are something quite important to her. Since she has a particular decent size bust, she tends to wear shirts that bring attention to that area of her body, when she isn't wearing her school uniform and robes. There is one decent size scar on her left leg from when she was a little girl; she had fallen onto a nail, skidding across it while playing hide-and-seek with the neighbouring children. Other than that, a few freckles sprinkle her shoulders and arms from all the tanning she got as a child. For the longest time she wasn't happy about her appearance, being just a dowdy hen as some people called her. But one summer she grew up, found a lot of self-confidence and now displays that in how she walks tall and proud, with a smile on her face and effort put into her appearance; no more slouching or tight ponytails.

PERSONALITY Her appearance may be plain jane, but she is as far from that personality wise as they come. Bubbly is the first thing that comes to mind. Since she has changed her appearance, her outlook on life has really changed. Once shy and quiet, she is now outgoing. Life is too short, she realised, and she wasn't going to spend it being all cooped up in a dorm room, feeling sorry for herself or being a recluse. She loves to talk, loves to hear herself talk, and finds that she talks very fast. If she's got something important to say, there's no use trying to shut her up or get her to slow down; she'll just look at you funny, then go on with whatever she was saying. Because of this, she is a girl that is just easy to get along with, but at the same time, someone that can annoy you. She knows this. Hell, she doesn't care. If she annoys someone, she just brushes it off and pretends it isn't true. Rosamund is a glass half full girl and always will be.

Bulimia was her life for a while, before she found self-confidence. She was always just the outcast of the school, keeping to herself. Then she became bulimic, letting the eating disorder control her life. She thought she was controlling it herself, but really, she wasn't. She saw throwing up as some sort of control idea, where she knew she could control her food intake and what she wanted to throw up. After collapsing and receiving consueling, she saw the light and realised that she was sick and would always be sick, no matter what. "Beating" the disease, as she calls it, opened her eyes to life and how precious it was, hence her self-confidence boost and happy go lucky nature now.

Just like everybody else, she has flaws. School is something she struggles in. While some people can get great grades and pass everything, she seems to not be able to do as well as she can, especially when it comes to writing. She can make potions, wave her wand and have something happen, but when it comes to actually writing out all the technicalities, she has a hard time. She tries to work on it by reading books and other essays, but it still doesn't seem to be any help. On that note, she won't ask for help. Her pride is too big for her to step out and ask for help, which showed with her eating disorder as well.

She seems to be a person who wants desperately to try and see the good in everyone, despite what her father did to her. Trust is a problem with her; she trusts way too easily. She's one of those people who will give you the benefit of the doubt, no problem, but once you lose her trust, that's it. There is no way to gain it back once it's gone. While she may not hold a grudge against you for that, she will just ignore you or say a polite and simple, "Hello" and nothing more.
