Significant Others: Sim has had countless hook ups with girls, but he never calls them again. He wont admit it, but he's scared to get close to a girl. He's never been in a relationship for longer than a night.

Detailed Description: Sim is short compared to a lot of boys, at 5'9 what he lacks in height he makes up for in noise. His frame is thin, with small muscles from BMXing. He is tanned year round due to the time he spends outdoors, with a smattering of freckles along his nose and shoulders. Sim likes to keep his hair short, almost shaved and it's a dirty blonde colour. His face looks angelic, but often contrasts with either his smirk or his frown. He has one small hoop in his ear lobe, a tattoo on his upper arm and countless scars. His knuckles are always bruised or cut. Sim wears a lot of skate clothing, big t-shirts and baggy jeans, he doesn't buy anything fancy because it all ends up getting ripped anyway.

Personality
Likes: Getting wasted, shouting loudly, disrupting class, going as fast as he can, fighting and girls.
Dislikes: Detention, girls that wont put out, nagging, tidying, not being able to pull off a trick.
Quirks: Nail biter, public spitter and general owner of most bad habits.
Secrets: - During this summer gone, Sim developed a taste for cocaine. He's not doing it as much as he was a t home, it was disasterous when his mum found out. But if he's offered some he just doesn't have the willpower to say no.
- Sim LOVES his mum. She might be the only person he can readily admit his feelings for.
- At Christmas Sim went looking for his Dad. He found his and it was not a good meeting, to put it lightly.
- No one knows Sim's dad was a famous rockstar in the 90s. He'd like to keep it that way.

Strengths: - Sim's a really good arguer, he could do well on the debate team if he didn't lose his temper so often.
- Could go pro BMX riding. He often enters competitions and wins. In fact it's where most of his money comes from.
- In his own twisted way, he's quite nobel. He will stick up for any of his friends, or anyone he thinks is being done wrong by.
Weaknesses: - If anyone mentions Sim's mum in a bad light he can't be held accountable for his actions.
Strongest subject in school: Flying, It's a shame he's too hot-headed to make the team.
Weakest subject in school: Sim and potions do not mix well.
One thing he/she can't live without:

Detailed personality: On the surface Sim is aggressive,  alpha male. Underneath, it's more or less the same. What you see is what you get, and what you get is usually an argument, abuse or shouting.  If you peel off enough layers, you can find the deep love for his Mother, which stops Sim from being a complete little shit, and a respect for people who take no bull-shit.

 Labelled as the product of a broken home, no support was ever given to Sim or his Mother when he first started showing signs of anti-social behaviour, which escalated until he was unmanagable, angry at the world and taking it out unfairly on the people around him. Truth is, Sim is so scared of becoming his Father. This makes him angry, which in turn makes him bear an uncanny resemblence to the man he hates.

Sim wont judge you on your sexual preference, your skin colour, your music taste or clothes. But he will scrutinize you on how you take a stand for what you believe in, whether you're a push-over or not. It takes a lot to garner respect from Sim, but once you have it you will have it for life. He may get wildly drunk and punch his best friend, but that doesn't mean deep down he doesn't love him.

Girls are attracted to his bad boy image, though ones that get involved with him usually get burned.  He feels very entitled, owed everything he wants and he's not afraid to take it. Sim is all about instant gratification and wont hang about afterwards for a cuddle and a chat.


Personal History: Marina Burford was 17. She'd quit school, quit her parents and was dedicating her life to following semi-famous punk band 'Next of Kin' around America on their tour. She was a pretty girl, if naive. She believed the singer, Adrian (Shredder to his fans) when he said she wouldn't get pregnant. Apparently, pregnancy was meant to be. The last Marina saw of Adrian was backstage after a gig in Seattle, sucking on the neck of an even younger girl than herself.  When she wrote to her one time lover, updating him on the progress of her pregnancy, he said never to contact him again. "You know how it is baby, my image will be wrecked."

Simon was born in Seattle hospital four months later, and lived with Marina in a one bed apartment above a dry cleaners for all of his early life. His days were spent transfixed as his Mother showed him magic, levitating his favourite toys to spin around him. Even as a boy, Sim was a handful. He was often sent home from Muggle school for destruction of property or fighting the other boys, not in a rough-and-tumble sort of way, but actually trying to cause hurt to those around him. Feeling terribly guilty for not providing a better house, or food or education for Sim, she let him get away with murder.

For a brief period Marina became involved with another man, Ian. When Sim was two he was sat down by the both of them and told he would be having a little brother, which neither thrilled or upset him. This feeling continued throughout the pregnancy, birth and life of his little brother, Adam. Sim feels incredibly guilty for not loving Adam the way he does his Mother, but he's just a kid, and more competition for his Mother's affections. Predictably, Ian didn't hang around in the Burford household, but still sees Adam on special occassions.

Marina viewed Sim attending Magical school  as a new start for her boy. Somewhere where he could turn over a new leaf and no one would have any preconcieved judgements about him. Despite his best efforts,  Sim wasn't able to control his temper for long, and soon became renowned throughout school as a bit of a head-case. It wasn't much of a surprise to anyone when he was sorted that the smoke drifted towards Lelaurie.

Throughout his school years Sim has perfected his alpha male swagger, playing up the bravado and noise surrounding his personality. He's become increasingly self destructive, going on weekend long binges with little regard for his health, rolling into school with cuts and black eyes and probably great stories if he could remember them.  This summer he became friendly with some local Muggle kids from the neighborhood, experimenting with drugs for days at a time.  Sim took a liking to cocaine, it suited his jumpy personality, and his summer dissolved into chaos as he sold anything he could to fund the habit.  It was the worst day of his life when his Mother found out.  He'd never meant to upset her, the way her face crumpled is etched into his memory forever. 

This year was also the year Sim met his Father. An aging former rock-star with a bad drinking problem, Sim went looking for him around Christmas.   Sim saw what his future could become and seeing red, hit back at the man who caused him so much misery. Adrian left with a bloody nose, Sim with a sense of  unease. Now, Sim tries to make an effort at school, channeling his anger into BMX riding. He's gotten pretty good, entering a few local competitions and winning, but he's still far from perfect. Still, this is his dream, if only he can give up the partying in the mean time.
