this is a tricky question! i think the wizarding world, at least in the uk, takes properties of the how the muggle government works but for the most part they work on their own accord. i'd like to think that after kingsley shacklebolt became the minister, things became a democracy because of how things changed in the ministry (and the wizarding world as a whole in the uk) and became a fair place for all wizards. it's also why hermione fought for elf and animal rights too, which if i'm not mistaken is the reason dragons don't guard gringotts vaults anymore, elves are supposed to have fair pay, etc. as for getting lawyers, yes i assume wizards have their sort of lawyers as they have the wizengamot which is somewhat like their own british parliament. i hope this answers your question, anon!
