"Yeeah, that would cause a problem," she says after a moment eying him with wide eyes. "They don't like different that much. It messes with the order of things."
The next part about his sister has her grow wide eyed then hiss something in very guttural tones. Not a language spoken on Earth obviously. "He what? Good. On Thangar they do worse to people like that. They toss them from the highest building on Thangar. They say you either find remorse, the Gods, or the realization you're damned. If you're a real piece of work, all three."
She gives him a bitter look. "That's outside of the Downside. You likely got to see the pretty parts of Thangar. For all our talk of being better? Earthmen are the better race, as far as I've heard. Least these people get a taste of real freedom even if they can't soar."
She actually laughs then coughs painfully. "No. I pretty much crashed the shuttle I was in. Don't think Earth Inns take Galactic standard credits. And I'm kinda beat up here so, not like I'm willing to use less than legal means to find a bed."
