Unusually enough, Flash was out of the house.  He wheeled himself along the sidewalk by the park.  It was a nice day off, and his girlfriend was doing other things.  That left Flash with nothing but himself and, being outside.  And all the people giving him looks for having nothing below the kneecaps.  Screw them, though.  He'd gotten over feeling sorry for himself, and he didn't need them to feel sorry for him either.

Spider-Man swings through the city on patrol - skirting the edges of the park as he sails through the air - until his keen senses spy a familiar figure. He leaps and twists as he descends, landing almost silently behind Thompson.

"Good to see you out and about, Flash. How're things going?"

He moves up beside Flash as he speaks.

Flash wasn't aware of Spiderman when he arrived, until he said something. Naturally, he was caught by surprise.

"Hey, Spiderman," he said, offering his hand for a shake. "I'm fine. Glad to see you're still keeping the streets clean. Never doubted you, you know."

"Just doing what I can. Like some other folks I could mention."

He nods to Flash.

"I'm glad there's at least one guy who doesn't believe the Bugle's headlines about me."

"Jameson's a blowhard," Flash commented. "He just can't appreciate good work when he sees it."

"I think we can infer that much from his haircut."

Spider-Man glances around - a vigilante walking and talking on the street with a civilian was starting to attract some attention, but he disregards it and continues.

"So what're you up to, lately?"

He chuckled. Yeah, JJJ didn't exactly have the best personal style.

"Making myself useful," Flash replied. "The military still puts me to work."

"Well, you can't beat that, I guess. Can you tell me what they've got you working on, or would you have to kill me?"

Clearly, a joke, and an old one at that, but that might be a little close to home in this situation.
