PERSONALITY Logan Meriman is not your ‘stereotypical’ Hufflepuff. Although, really, there aren’t very many of those these days to begin with. Hufflepuff is full of cynics, rebels, and wannabe badasses. And then there is Logan, who tries to be a mix of all three. Actually, he’s more like the token obnoxious pervert. The guy who uses the lamest pick up lines, has the most vulgar jokes, and yes, you saw it coming, and has a strong fondness for porn. He has a reputation for being a pseudo ladies’ man, and he’d be content with that image if it was true. The sad truth is that Logan generally repels members of the opposite sex due to his crude ways. It’s a shame he hasn’t figured out exactly why the ladies aren’t flocking to him like they should. He’s an attractive, semi-decent Quidditch player. What is he doing wrong? He’s simply trying too hard. It’s an endearing trait when it comes to certain things—he always gives 110% when it comes to Quidditch. It’s useful when it comes to homework assignments. But when it comes to his personality? It becomes obvious that Logan is faking his smoothness. It’s obvious because he’s not smooth at all. He tries very hard to hide the fact that’s he’s your typical awkward teenage boy, and it’s so painfully obvious. But it’s hilarious to watch. The main person who gets his kicks from watching Logan crash and burn when it comes to women is the person who makes him act like that in the first place—his older brother, Irving. Irving Meriman is suspsicously good at everything, except when it comes to being an older brother. Logan is attempting a more crass version of his brother—a smooth talkiing, athletic, ladies’ man. Too bad it’s not who he really is.

That’s not to say that Logan isn’t a pervert. Because he really does get his kicks from watching films with titles such as “Shaving Ryan’s Private” and “Cockeye”. Aspects of Logan’s true personality manage to shine through every once and a while. Occaisonally he’ll make a genuine statement about one of his female friends. And his interested in photography and movies stems from a sincere, wholesome interest in movies. [...]

WHAT IS YOUR CHARACTER'S GREATEST FEAR? Logan is afraid that his family is only pretending to support him. They seem pretty apathetic about the magic thing entirely, and he’s certain that as soon as he leaves for school they all wonder how they got such a freak for a relative. The only person he doesn’t suspect of doing so is his sister. None of this is true, of course, but Logan can be paranoid at times.

WHAT IS HIS OR HER MOST DEFINING CHARACTERISTIC?

TO THIS DAY, WHAT STANDS AS HIS OR HER BIGGEST SECRET OR REGRET? It’s not that much of a secret that Logan is still a virgin, but it is a secret that he messed up his one golden opportunity. During the summer, Logan was at one of his brother’s parties and he managed to meet a girl who was interested in him who wasn’t drunk. Things were going great and they were about to cue Marvin Gaye’s “Let’s Get It On” when Logan panicked and fled the room. The only other person who knows about it (aside from the girl) is his brother, who is using the information to blackmail Logan.

IN A PERFECT WORLD, WHAT DOES YOUR CHARACTER ENVISION FOR HIS OR HER FUTURE SELF? Logan likes to imagine himself as some Hugh Heffner-like character. Rich, with extremely bosomy women clinging to him. Along with that, he’d like to be some critically acclaimed director—one who dabbles in all sorts of genres. Comedies, action, and maybe a comedy-action porno or two on the side. The most important part of Logan’s perfect would have to besting his older brother at something. Apparently being a wizard just isn’t enough.
