Physical description (face, build, weight):  Dane Whitman is solidly built, with a strong jaw and dark, shaggy hair. He often wears a few days beard growth, and six foot two, and 215 lbs.

Abilities:  Dane Whitman has several abilities tied to his Gann Josin bond with Sersi.

Enhanced Senses/Reflexes/Stamina/Durability- Dane’s five senses have been sharpened to peak capacity, allowing him to react faster than a normal human can. He also three times faster, stronger and more durable than a normal human, but not invincible.

Enhanced Healing/Extended Life Span:  Dane heals twice as fast as a normal human being, is highly resistant to toxins, and immune to diseases. This also leads to a great natural longevity than humans. He can still die if killed, but his aging has slowed dramatically, allowing him to fight and hunt in his prime.  

Telepathic Resistance/Telepathy: Dane has a greater degree of psychic resistance to keep him from falling prey to the depredations of the supernatural. He also possesses the ability to influence the weak-willed with his own mind, or cloud their perceptions.

Telekinesis: Dane can hover or use his telekinesis to boost his jumping ability, making seemingly impossible leaps, or keep himself from being injured when falling from great heights. He is less adept at using this energy for  attacking, but he can lift small objects, of call his blade to his hand from a across a room or a similar short distance.

Energy blasts:  These blasts are mistaken for mystic force by outsiders, but are another off-shoot of Sersi’s power bequeathed to the Black Knight.

Transmutation: Dane’s greatest skill, inherited from his lover Sersi’s unmatched potential in this area, allows him to transmute matter. While he will never rival her in this area, much of what he does with this skill is believed to be mystical by those who witness it. Only Sersi and other Eternals can see these abilities for what they truly are.  

Dane also possesses the Ebony Blade, and the Amulet of Avalon, which grant him access to the Shield of Night,  his familiar battle armor, and his winged mount, Strider. He is skilled hand-to hand combatant, swordsman, and destroyer of demons and their ilk, possessing information on tactics to destroy all manner of demonic beasts.

Weaknesses and flaws:  Dane Whitman has been separated  from his soul mate and the one true love of his life. Each day without her is almost like a physical pain, and he often has difficulty concentrating on a task unless the need is dire or he is on the hunt. Many times, in his loneliness, he attempts to reach out to Sersi, hoping to feel her across the void that separates them. If she can hear him, she has not answered yet. This drives him into deeper despair, and only the thought of going home to her again keeps him moving.

Backstory (Please include as much detail as possible about the world they came from):  Earth 1222 is, quite literally, a hellhole. The Elder God Cthon rose to prominence after slaying the Sorcerer Supreme thousands of years ago, and elevated a deviant branch of humanity into his favored people. Calling themselves The Chosen, these beings turned to the sacrifice of their fellow humans to appease the demons and worship the Dark God.

 Eventually, Cthon and The Chosen were opposed by the Eternals, who managed to free many humans who were not wholly enthralled by the honeyed lies of their masters. Led by the Prime Eternal Sersi, many humans learned to fend for themselves and create weapons that could battle against their oppressors. However, the embattled resistance was losing ground to the vast army arrayed against them and Sersi knew that the humans would never truly win the battle unless one of their own could lead them out of the darkness.

Dane Whitman was born to humble beginning, but his iron will was apparent from a young age. He was believed by many to be the one prophesied to cast down the Chosen and their master…and to conquer the heart of the Prime Eternal. Dane found his role hard to accept in the beginning, but with Sersi’s guidance and eventual love, he grew into becoming the protector his people needed. Eventually, the two entered into the gann josin and the Black Knight came to grow stronger from the bond he shared with his wife.

The pair began a vigorous campaign against the demons and their lords, unifying the humans and breaking others from their forced love of their captors. In time, Dane and Sersi lead hundreds of campaigns, several of which resulted in the deaths of Nin-Gula the Slothful, Sanga-Kish the Unyielding, Naram-Sin the Depraved and a standstill with Galam-Reth the Wrathful.

How do you plan to introduce the character to the game?: Dane will be mid-battle with Galam-Reth when he is yanked from the fight to join the Exiles.

What are you planning to do with this character?:  Explore the bond between Sersi and Dane, and provide the more mystical types of power to the Exiles.  If there are any occult type battles to be had, Dane will be at the forefront, offering his knowledge of demons to aid the team.
